Another name change question

I am getting married in 11 days (9/10)   I am recently unemployed and am getting unemployment.  I am planning on name changing.  WIll this screw up my unemloyment?  Should I wait until I get a new job and change my name?

    Hmm. That's a good question. Someone here might know what you should do... but I would suggest stopping by your unemployment office (because I know you can't ever get a live person on the phone) and ask them how it works. Since UI is tied to your SS#, I almost wonder if it will be automatic when you get your new SS card.

    I dunno about that one. You may want to call and find out. I wouldn't think it would jepordize anything if you are eligible for it regardless of your name change.

    Don't you get unemployment from SSA? If that's so I'm sure you can take care of getting your name changed legally and on your unemployment when you go to the SSA office to change it. But I could be way off so double check that.

    My unemloyment is from the state right now ( i have been out of work for 1 month)  I will try and call them.  They open at 7 am for calls and it is easy to get threw then.  It seems most unemployed people wait till later.
