The Atrium

Hi - I'm interested in getting married at the Atrium in West Orange.  I've seen a lot of posts saying how great it is and I think the place is beautiful.  Can anyone tell me how willing they are to negotiate price?  I also noticed that they offer a candelabra with a silk flower as the table centerpieces - when I asked the woman if I would also need flowers, she said their centerpiece was enough.  Has anyone ever used this?  Will we really not need centerpieces?  Any information you can share would be helpful, as we have an appointment there next week.  Thanks!

I tried negotiating but they didn't budge $ wise. They did negotiate the minimum with me. I was able to bring it from a 200 minimum to 180...which was huge!

I used the silk centerpieces and they looked beautiful.  I wouldn't waste my money on real ones that just die, but of course that's my opinion. Some girls wouldn't be happy with silk flowers though...so it really all depends whether you're ok with it or not.

I got married there in 8/09 and used the centerpieces I thought they looked nice. They didnt really budge on price but I think they include alot for their price (cake, linens, vienesse hour ,centerpieces and huge cocktail hour) to mention a few. My family still talks about how  great the food was and how much there was. If you have any other questions let me know

I went to look there.  Great place, they weren't very willing to negotiate on price unless we upped our minimum and we just couldn't do that.  I actually thought the centerpieces were nice.

Thanks all!  I'm very glad you all thought the centerpieces were nice - what a way to save some $$.  Hopefully all goes well when we sit down to discuss details...

I was married there in April of '09.

I don't really remembering them budging on the price but they included a heck of a lot for that amount!

I used the silk centerpieces...it saved me quite some $.

Yes you can negotiate but probably for a friday or sunday wedding or saturday afternoon. We got a great price for a Sunday wedding on Oct, we took the beef out (we did not like it anyways), we will have salmon and chicken, salmon is awesome, 3 instead of 4 chaffing stations plus a martini bar, all this for $9 less per person that what they originally quoted us, so it worked for us. And yes we will use the silk centerpieces, my mom wants to put cocktail small round candles (which I think they also give you) and scattered petals around the table (to match your wedding colors, for me is black/latte and champagne, so peach petals will look good), it should be fine. I love the place and Bill was awesome to work with, no to mention we loved the food when we tasted it, looking forward........also with 175 they will give us the vienesse table too, but we did our contrat for 125 just to be on the low side for now. Good luck!
