Good DJ and photographer

We're looking for high quality DJs and photographers.

We'd like to spend less than $1500 for the DJ and less than $3000 for the photographer.  Any suggestions?

Were using R&R Productions out of Canton, specifically Tony for our DJ. They came highly recommended and we love them so far.

For our photographer were using Dave from DB Photography. He is photojournalistic and amazing to work with. We just scheduled our engagement photos. We get a high res disc with rights to all our pics, engagement and wedding. Hes out of RI but travels and his pictures are amazing

Our DJ was expensive ($3,000) but I've heard great things about Greg Capozzi from C-Zone. He may be in your budget.

We are also using David Bibeault for photography. His packages are  VERY reasonable for the quality of his work. So far, he's our favorite vendor. Our engagement photos are amazing!

We're using Curtis Knight Entertainment for our DJ.  Their prices are really reasonable, we're paying $900 for 4 hrs.  We're using DJ Mark Cherone who was recommended by a bride who used him and loved him.

For photographer, we are using Leah Haydock.  We *LOVE* her!  Her photos are amazing and she is great to work with!  Totally worth it!  I'm pretty sure packages without an album are in your price range and you get all the digital negatives, so you can make your own album (a LOT cheaper that way).

Both of our vendors are in your budget and have been SO great to work with so far.  We are using Dennis McCarthy (www.bostondj.com) and Darren & Beth Pellegrino for our photographers (www.darrenpellegrino.com).  We did our e-pics with them a few weeks ago and had a blast!  Good luck with the search.

We used Aaron Topfer (DJ) and Heather Parker (Photographer).  Very satisfied with each.  Aaron was great about introductions-- everything ran smoothly, and everything was pronounced correctly.  He made excellent choices from our must play list that kept the dance floor packed all night.  Professional without attempting to "BE" the show as some DJ's do.

I can't say enough about Heather-- we MORE than love our photos.  I haven't taken the time to re-size and post my favorites to my married bio, but you can see "New England Barn Wedding" in her blog ("Teaser," in my signature)-- it's probably five or six pages back now.  My avatar and signature photos are also Heather's.  Our epics are in my planning bio.  For all the shots (there are many) see heatherparker.smugmug.com, click "Lea & Mark Wedding" and the password is "fortkamp."  Her package was perfect for us; among other things, it included all the digital files in color and black and white, gave us full reproduction rights, and didn't force us into buying albums.  Second shooter is optional, and the price is very competitive for the quality.  Creative, photojournalistic style that really documents the whole day!

I can't help with the DJ (we didn't use one), but I can definitely highly recommend our photographer, and he fits in your budget.  His name is Dan Nystedt, Nystedt Photography: www.nystedtphotography.com

He was great to work with, didn't hover around us too much, and took amazing photos--and so quickly (each shot it was like, *click* "got it").  I hate when I go to a wedding and the photographer ends up in all my shots of the bride & groom--he wasn't like that....a few times I actually heard his say, "am i in your shot?  let me move over."  He edited & posted the first pics online in a week, and we got DVDs with all the hi-res images in about 2-2.5 weeks.  He lives in the Boston area, but will travel all over New England.  He was the first vendor we booked, and one of our favorites.  He's young & creative too, and willing to take a lot of the fun shots!

Our edited wedding pics are still online:

We worked with Murray Hill Entertainment. They were nothing fancy but we wanted something simple and not cheesy. There were add ons but we didn't go with any. The travel fees were reasonable as well. They also have bands that are reasonable but might not fit your budget. For our photogrpaher we hired someone named Heather Parker as we wanted someone familiar with Nantucket. I am so glad we went with her because the entire evening zipped by like a dream and just like you don't remember everything from a dream, there were the photos to show it. We don't have our complete set of pictures yet but we were emailed some sneak peek small photos which look like they could have been taken right from a magazine page.

For a DJ we're using Ra-Mu and the Crew out of RI (they'll go anywhere in New England).  He made it a point to tell us that he's not a typical wedding DJ and his style seems perfect!!  For $1300 it's 5 hrs of DJ'ing, free uplighting, those lighted monogramed initials, video montage of the wedding day played during reception on two 42" plasmas (yea, he actually has an assistant take pics/videos of your ceremony!!) and he was telling us about this new thing he might start including where guests can txt message notes to the 42" plasmas throughout the night. So cute!  We met with him and pretty much booked him on the spot!!!  Nicest guy ever.  One thing that set him apart from other DJ's we were looking at was that Ra-Mu had tons of videos of weddings he's done on YouTube so you can actually see how he works.  Definitly check him out!!!

Our photographer is John LoConte (www.johnlophoto.com).  He does amazing work!!!  Beautiful and emotional photojournalistic style.  We're getting 8hrs coverage, unlimited images, rights to all images, a CD with the images (unedited and edited), an 8x10 pic, and a 15 page flush neoclassical wedding album for ~$2200!!!

I feel like we lucked out on our DJ and Photographer on soooo many levels!!! I'm so excited!!!!!!!!!

We're using Sound Force Unlimited for our dj, and he's been a great communicator so far and really personable.
For our photographer, we are going with Portrait New England. Fantastic photojournalists with an artistic flair. Their packages are also very reasonable and they threw in extra stuff for us (especially because we paid up front). I highly recommend them.

I second Greg Capozzi with C-Zone Music. I've seen him at my old companies holiday party and he was awesome, which is why we hired him as our dj for our wedding!

I also second Scott Metzger. He is our wedding photographer, and he's so affordable! I love his stylistic approach in photographs as well.

I am using Melissa Robotti for a photographer out of North Reading her pictures are amazing and everyone I found with a similar style was much higher in price. She was the one vendor I new I needed from the start. http://melissarobotti.com/
