DJs & Lighting

We are looking for a DJ for our June 2011 wedding who can also provide some lighting.  Nothing major, but we want to be able to project our monogram on the floor and maybe have a few lights to set the mood when dinner is over and it's time to dance.  As far as the DJ, we don't want someone that's "in your face" but someone who does have some character.  I looked at the suggested vendors list, but had a hard time finding DJs who also provide lighting.

Should I just look into booking a separate vendor for lighting or do you know DJs who can do both?  Thanks for your help!

Jodi Colella was the DJ for my daughter's wedding.  We loved her!  She did a pheomenal job and one of my daughter's BMs liked her so much that she just booked Jodi for her wedding.

Jodi does have a complete lighting system, it really set the mood for my daughter's wedding.

I say book two seperate vendors - you're going to have either a person who is trying to be good at two completely different aspects of the wedding or two people who are both great at what they do.

I booked my DJ through Party Time Productions and they do have lots of lighting options (including monograms!). They seemed very customer service oriented when we met with them - which is why we booked them. Good luck :)

We used D.C. SOUND. They were awesome and didn't charge us any extra for dance lighting.

Thank you knotties for the suggestions!  I'm definitely going to look into the ones you've listed.  Anyone else know of DJ's that do lighting or two separate companies?

I'm using Top Dog Productions for my wedding in July.  It is two DJs who work together.  They do both the djing and lighting and are VERY on top of all of the details.  IMO the lighting was very reasonably priced and they can do pretty much whatever you'd like... monograms, uplighting, spotlighting, etc.
