  I wanted the same thing originally too before I decided on the in-suite idea, but you will be hard pressed to find that option on the Strip. Diablo's Cantina and Hard Rock Cafe are two more casual options on the Strip that have outdoor seating. You could contact them to see what they will do for you. You may want to look into an in-suite reception option too...

  Their prices are incredibly expensive for private group events.  We love Margaritaville and wanted to have our rehearsal dinner in the second floor area, which is not in use about 99% of the times we've been there, and they quoted us the same prices, it would have cost us $85/pp after tax and service charge were factored in for a two hour event with open call-brand liquor bar.
  
  There's certainly no harm in trying to call in a 25 person reservation, maybe call up now and give htem a random date a month from now and say you're thinking about coming to Margaritaville and were wondering if you can make a reservation for enough tables in the same area to cover that size group; try to avoid key words that would cause them to dump you off on the group reservations folks.  If it works, you could probably try going that route.
  
  We ended up having our RD at Hussong's Cantina, the pricing was a third of what Margaritaville wanted and everyone had a blast.

   I was pretty sure that I was going to go with Border Grill (and still considering) but i started getting stressed out about the cost of it all... anyway, I saw that Senor Frogs at Treasure Island finally has a website up and they have a "party pad" where you can have private parties. i just sent a request for information a few days ago but haven't heard back yet. however, when i was filling out the information requested they had two hours for 20pp and 3 hours for 25 pp... once i recieve more information i'd be more than happy to pass along if interested. hopefully they respond soon, i'm excited to see what they have to offer

  We had ours at the Hard Rock Cafe (on the strip).  We were able to book way in advance.  Just had to give them our final numbers within 3 days (or something like that).  I'm not sure if we could have had it outside or not, we didn't ask.  But I'm sure you could.  Anyways, they had limited menus that ranged from 20-39$ which includes tip and tax.  The cheapest drink package they had was $28 for beer and wine (which doesn't include tax and tip).

  I too am looking for a place to eat following my wedding in April.  I tried to request information about my date on Senor Frogs website and it kept saying "pick a valid time" so I am wondering if that means all the rooms are booked?  I tried to call and when the girl transferred me it just rang and rang and rang...let me know what you girls find out.  We are not happy with all the 20% service fee BEFORE gratuity on top of our bill.  We aren't looking for DJ or flowers or anything!  Just dinner and drinks on us in a private room for 30 people max.  Why is this so difficult?

  Ok ladies, so after doing a lot more research, I've decided that I might actually end up at Margaritaville.
  It turns out that most places(at least every single one that I checked) will make us order from the group menu, which makes sense for the size of the group. I looked into a couple other places that thought would be fun, such as Benihana and the restaurant at the Eiffel Tower. They were way out of our price range, after fees, taxes, tip, etc.
  
  So here's the deal with Margaritaville:
  
  12 or less people: normal dinner reservation (called "priority seating"...not a reservation, but will get you the first table available for your size group) and they can order off the regular menu.
  
  Fewer than 20 guests: May order off the regular menu, but are required to purchase a drink package ($30+/pp for 2 hours + 23% service charge) in order to guarantee seating together. I tink that's a load of BS, but it's their policy.
  
  20+ guests: Must order off the group menu, which starts at $40/pp. Includes appetizer, 3 menu options, and dessert. 23% service charge, but that DOES cover gratuity. SInce I typically tip 20% anyway, this isn't really a big deal. You are not required to purchase a drink package but can if you'd like. I probably won't since not everyone in my family drinks, and those who do probably won't drink $30 worth of alcohol.
  
  So as silly as I think some of their policies are, we may end up here anyway since it's what we really wanted in the first place.
