Good Morning and Happy Friday!

I was surprised to see no good morning post this morning!! I then realized that a bunch of ppl were taking the day off! JealousE!!! Anyway HAPPY FRIDAY!! Last night was pretty uneventful for me - FI and I went to Chili's for dinner then he plunked down on the couch and watched the NFL draft ALL NIGHT LONG! ugh... it was ok though b/c it gave me some time to play around on my computer with STD ideas!! I'm really struggling and will soon need some knottie input! lol

    morning! maybe it's just me being new to this wedding-planning business, but every time i see "STD" i don't think of save the dates! lol

    Good Morning and TGIF! I too am jealous of everyone that's off today- it's a gorgeous day here, but of course is going to rain the entire weekend, into next week. Blah! Looks like it'll be a stay-in type of weekend, except for maybe getting DH some Dockers for work (the census job calls for "business casual"... DH thinks he has enough clothes, but I don't!).

    G- DH had the draft on last night too, though thankfully he's not that much of a football fan, since he turned it off after the Steelers' turn.

    TGIF!! I have a half day today, with an afternoon filled with errands.

    Last night DF and I watched the Pens game at Fox and Hound.  It was nice to actually see him on a Thursday! haha

    Today has been a great day already, got paid AND my refund check came in Smile
    Tomorrow we have another wedding to go!

    msange - lol about the STD comment!! It took me a while too... now I find myself abbreviating it to everyone! lol

    kim - you're lucky! lol - my FI is a MAJOR football fan! He had it on ALL NIGHT... he was as excited as a kid in a candy shop! I hear you on wanting the day off! It is so beautiful here today!! My mom and bro are driving to DC today and I'm SO jealous! They're spending the day in the district and museum hopping :( I wish I were there :(

    Meg - Enjoy your 1/2 of a day off!! Have fun at the wedding this weekend... I hope no one steals anything this time!

    Seems like today is going to be a slow day on the boards... :( I'm not going to know what to do w/ myself here! lol

    Good Morning everyone! 

    Last night was sophomore night for our baseball team (we are a junior college so sophomore nights are like our senior nights).  My baseball coach certainly caught me off guard.  Since I was at work all day I was munching on a snack while they were announcing and saying a few words about each soph (there were like 12 so it took a while!).  Once the last one was announced, our sports info guy started talking about a female and I thought it was Jamie the work study student who does the stats for baseball since she was a sophomore as well and thought well isn't that nice of them.  But as he continued in his speech about this person it didn't seem to fit, it didn't dawn on me until the end that he was in fact talking about me.  Here most of the faculty knew they were going to do this and I had no clue!  So I had to run on the field with the rest of the sophomores and Tom our coach had gotten me a gift.  It was such a nice gesture but I have to admit I was a little embarrassed too!  The gift is very nice - its a bunch of arbonne things, body masks, salt scrubs, etc in a nice basket.  It made my day (& made up for the fact that I didn't get home from work til 10:30 last night).

    G, Kim & Meg - I am JealousE that you guys got to watch the draft and the Pens game.  I was trying to keep track of both on my phone at work last night.

    Meg - enjoy the wedding!

    G and Kim - we watched the NFL draft too, but I was definitely into it as well - and made FI watch the wrap up also.  :)  FI is not too excited about football this year b/c he's a Redskins fan!

    Afterwards, I was SHOCKED to see the Pens were STILL PLAYING!  On my way home from work regulation had ended - 2 hours later, couldn't believe they were still standing.  Such a bummer that they lost.

    Looking forward to this weekend - we're going to see either Clash of the Titans or the Losers tonight, and then BBQ tomorrow.  Should be fun!

    Yea, the Redskins suck... even though I live in DC now, I will forever be a Steelers fan! Is your FI originally from DC, or does he just like the team?

    Also, we thought about seeing Clash of the Titans...if you go, let me know how it is! Not sure if it'd be my "type" of movie, but DH was interested in it. Though not that interested I guess, since he hasn't mentioned about seeing it in a while.

    Kim - yep, he's from Rockville, so die hard Redskins fan.  Even had season tix last year (remember, we live in LA, so no easy feat - he made it back to prob 4 games).

    That's why my idea of incorporating the Terrible Towel in the reception/rehearsal dinner is iffy - we will have die hard Eagles, Giants, and Redskins fans at the wedding.  There is a likely chance that the towels will be desecrated!

    I get so excited for football season - I think b/c I live so far away, and its great going to our local sports bar - EVERYONE wears jerseys of every single team, so we bond and trash talk about each of the teams!

    Missy - at least being a Steelers fan you can find other Steelers fans no matter where you are.  For example we live right outside of Baltimore in Ravens country and there's a Steelers bar that we go to so we can watch games!  And your FI should be looking forward to this season, the Redskins should be better now that they have McNabb a pro bowl QB!  I love football season too!
