Wedding Invitations & Paper

Program wording - one more question

Sorry, I just posted, but I thought of something else.

Our flower girl is the daughter of one of the bridesmaids. And our ring bearer is the son of one of the groom's friends. A little untraditional. So I'm struggling with the "relationship to us" part when you list the wedding party. I know it's usually a cousin or neice/nephew so people usually write:

Jimmy Smith   (Nephew of Groom)

But for us, what would I put? "Daughter of Friend of Bride" is a bit much, so right now I just have "friend of bride" and "friend of groom". But is it weird to call a 5 year old my friend?

This is exactly what we listed.  Our RB and FG were the kids I used to nanny for, so we listed them as friends...but our programs were set-up to have paragraphs about our relationship with everyone in the WP, so there we explained how we met the kids, etc.
  • I love the paragraph explaining the relationship! I wanted to do that but FI didn't like it   :(

Ha, DH didn't want to do it at first either, so I wrote paragraphs for him and then he read them as said "no-no, I'll do it" lol
  • This doesn't exactly answer your question, but we aren't doing relationships at all - just listing their name.

    Flower Girl - Suzie Smith
    Ring Bearer - Johnny Toledo
  • Yeah, good point. I suppose I don't have to list a releationship for them.
  • you could say "daughter of bridesmaid" and "son of groomsman"...
