Advice to PS posters...

I go often, read them over and over again. Some relate to me, others can break my heart and some are just...weird?

What would you say to a specific Post Secret poster? Any advice? Any you really like? Any really upset you? I haven't posted, but love the responses to these!

There are some I can relate to for sure. One that comes to mind is the "lurking for 1.5 years" one. I haven't been lurking nearly that long, but I don't like to post because I feel like since I'm not Gold or Silver or anything that my posts will be ignored.

I would say to that person that it only takes a few posts before you get comfortable chiming in and being a part of the discussions on here. I was definitely ignored for a little bit, and still am sometimes (depends on the board). But you won't get comfortable posting until you try.

I agree with the lurker one!
I'm still baffled by the suffrage one.
I'm disappointed in how many people got married even though they didn't think it was the right decision. (I can't remember if this was the knot or the niner one)

To be honest, the abortion ones either on the TK one or the niner one bother me. I know it's my opinion and my beliefs but any time I read stuff like that it makes me tear up.

This breaks my heart to think they went into it thinking it was a mistake. But I guess they either didn't know until it was too late or that they didn't have the guts to call it off. One of my co-workers once told me that she thought calling off a wedding was one of the bravest things you could do and I wholeheartedly agree.

I called off my first engagement because I knew it wasn't right. I was so afraid my family would be disappointed in me. They were really supportive! Some of my friends were not - accused me of cheating on the Ex, which never happened nor would I have considered it - and it really made me re-evaluate who my actual FRIENDS were.

This time around, I have no questions about my FI or our marriage. With 9 days to go I question my sanity for having a wedding, but I don't question the marriage in the slightest.

As for my advice - I'd say remember to live life. Whether that's screaming when you want, accepting how gorgeous you really are, or emerging from lurkdom on TK, don't just sit back and wait for life to happen to you. Enjoy it!

I can't believe your friends said that! That's awful!

I think perhaps a lot of people don't call of weddings because they think they can't do better. It breaks my heart to see how many adult women have such horrible self esteem issues. Whether it's their physical, mental, or emotional issues so many women are worried they aren't worth it.

I guess my piece of encouragement is that you are always worth it. Don't let anyone tell you differently.

I don't think that the women who was abused by her ex should feel like she is a horrible person. Many victims of abuse are unable to oppose their abuser, and I don't think you should feel bad, but rather, maybe recognize that abusers have a powerful pull over their victims and that might be what is leading you to believe that you'd go away with him in a heartbeat.

God yes, the ones where they felt hopeless and suicidal just breaks my heart. Especially the one where they were afraid they'd be looked at as weak on here.
