Are name tags and table #'s a MUST???

We're trying to cut costs as much as possible. Our dinner is a buffet with no seating chart. Would we really need to make name tags and table #'s? I don't think we'd need table #'s if there's not seating chart, but I'm willing to doe table #'s if we have to.

Re: Are name tags and table #'s a MUST???

  • We were going to have reserved tables for the bridal party, and instead of using different flowers for centerpieces, use the bridesmaids bouquets. That is a really great idea for table #'s. Thanks!
  • If you don't do a seating chart, then you don't need table numbers.  Just make sure your bridal party tables are clearly marked as reserved, so that there is no confusion.

We had a seating chart especially to accommodate single guests or couples who knew no one else at the wedding.  We made sure to place them at tables with people we know would talk to them.
  • We are doing open seating.  The bridal party table will have a little sign on it, but everyone else can sit where they like.   However, if you do it this way, you need to make sure you have MORE seating than needed.  You will end up with some tables that aren't completely full because of odd numbers (3 in a family, for example), so that table might have one seat left over.  You don't want a couple end up having to split up because of lack of seating together.
