Background info, I am a dancer (latin dances not ballroom) and my fiancee is not. Our song is "Your Song" by Elton John (because I wrote him a song early in our relationship). I want to do SOME sort of basic ballroom step, but not a whole choreography because I don't want him to be stressed out. The problem is I can't figure out which basic step to use. I know foxtrot is pretty much the go-to but it doesn't seem to me like it fits the music all that well.
Any dancers out there have any suggestions on which dance to use with that song? Since I do dance, I'd like to do something other than just swaying in circles. But I don't know ballroom dances very well and salsa definitely doesn't fit.
