Show me Your...February To-Do List

January is almost over! Crazy eh?? We'll all soon be hitting the 7 mos mark :P

Last night I was thinking about my to-do list for February and took a few moments to reflect on what I did during the month of January. Holy cow! I surpassed my goals big time and I know many of you ladies did as well.
If you're having a freak out kind of day just look at all you've accomplished in January! We are one efficient group of ladies :)

So what does February have in store?? I find it really helps to lay out a list of goals for the week/month to avoid the panic :P
I am back at school one night a week plus homework, and my son has skating and karate weekly so time is limited but that's nothing new :P I'd really rather get computer/indoor stuff done before Spring because I hate being inside when it's nice outside (winters are way too long here!!).

Here is my list:

- Book appt for tuxes (determine colour/style)
- Book space for post-wedding brunch
- Order/purchase jewelry
- Paint frames
- Decorate candle holders
- Design program
- Print sample invitation
- Contact pastor regarding marriage prep/ceremony schedule

Of course if I get more done it's a bonus but those are my goals. If it's anything like January, I'm golden :)

  • To do:

    -Send STD's
    - Work on registries (we have them started but not near done yet!)
    - Order BM's dresses
    - Decide if we want uplighting
    - Work on designing invites

I think that's it for now....
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • -help fiance parents move stuff up to their new cottage
-meet with my flower lady to determine the flowers, centerpieces, chair covers, and other wedding decorations I want to go with
-See if the jewelry I bought actually looks good with my dress
-Think about setting up an appointment for next month to meet with our venue to pick food for our platted dinner
-try and figure out what favor I want to do!
-decordate stuff for the candy buffet
  • I have a lot of "to-do's"  but a few that I want to get cracking at this month:

    1. Meet with the officiant to get a better timeframe for the ceremony I'm planning (need to do this so when invites get designed I have the RIGHT time ;)  )

    2.  Have all of the BMs order their dresses by the end of the month.  3 out of 6 have already done so.

    3. Get in touch with the florist to figure out a timeframe where we can start finalizing details... I've decided to cut out the "fall themed" colors to make things more cohesive and stick with the pewter/yellow/gold shades.

    4.  Look into when the photog needs her next payment and possibly just finish payment.

    5.  Buy more tissue paper for DIY poms!  I made a couple for the first time this weekend.  I plan on using them for areas where there wont be flowers as "filler" decorations.

Here's a peek of what they came out like:
  • Hopefully I can get all of mine accomplished!  Putting it on this board will be good motivation.

    -Find a DJ
    -Get bridesmaid dresses ordered
    -Decide on groomsmen attire
-Address STD (sending these out early March)
-Send deposit out to caterer (that's going out today!)
    -Start looking at invitations
-Make yarn balls to hang from tent
-Decide where/what we want to register for
    image180 image85 image8 Wedding Countdown Ticker image
  • february to-do's:

    1. Book Honeymoon
    2. Set up appointments to talk to florists (and come close to deciding on one)

those are the only MUST's. i have a few other things i'd like to work on though:
    -compare DJ's and potentially book
    -compare photobooths and potentially book
-continue looking around for invites/maybe even get some quotes for custom designed ones
-pick out readings & music for ceremony
-paint table numbers & spraypaint birdcages (weather permitting)
-set up an appointment for tuxes
-meet with coordinator at reception hall to look at linens

i feel like i'm forgetting things. also i feel like i should not feel so relaxed about everything.

I hear ya! This thread helps me put things into perspective tho and see what I might be missing.
I did forget that I need to contact FI's pastor for our marriage prep and officially set the time for the wedding (we were between 2-3pm). I had originally asked FI to do that but well, we all know how well that works out lol

<strong>missowl</strong> - make a list! it's the best thing to help your stress! it's amazing how much better you feel when you check items off that list!

  • Feb. To Do's
    -Finish Bouquet
    -Finish wedding shoes
    -Finish personalized hangers
-Start looking at tuxes with FI
    -Book honeymoon
    -Complete Registries
    -Finish favors
-Figure out favors for smaller (children) guests
-Work with my cousin to get BMs jewlery figured out
    -Personalize totes for BMs

If I can get all of this done it will be wonderful.  The great thing is that Feb. Vacation is coming so that means a whole week of going home right after work!  Woo.

Laur- if you do B-Pics you HAVE to let me know how it goes!  I am kind of obsessed with them right now and really want to do them, but I'm so self-conscious with all this weight I've put on.  I want to wait till I've lost/tone up some more, but want to be able to have everything done and printed before the wedding.

    My list:
-Book caterer (this has been on my list since like November... sigh)
-Order paper for & start my DIY invitations, which are already designed in Photoshop
    -Feb 14: Send STDs
    -Feb 21: Order BM dresses
    -Print pre-wedding thank you notes
-Misc. DIY projects (probably: Table numbers & finish my card box)
-Book hair stylist & makeup artist (not on my list for another few months, but I found someone I want to book already)

We are also thinking about starting suit/tux shopping, even though that's not on our list until the April 22-May 21st timeline.  Our friends who are getting married on September 8th have the guys getting theirs on February 15, so I guess we're just feeling behind haha.

Have you talked to your DJ?  Our DJ provides lighting too and has additional lighting they can bring & set up.  I'd start there if you didn't talk to them about it already :)

  • -Order and send STDs
    -Find the warehouse (long story)
    -Book a location
-Figure out where we are getting ready
    -Book DJ
    -Book Photographer
    -Find a dress
    -Order Dress
    -Finish guestlist and get addresses
    -Send addresses to invitation lady
    -Find paper for pinwheels

I have a long hard month ahead of me! We are so far behind!
  • Let's see...

(Want to get done like ASAP)
    -send STDs
    -finish registering
    -send questionaire to officiant
    -make FI send his questionaire

(For the rest of the month)
    -pick out tuxes
    -book a florist

This is all totally do-able. If I have time, I might start on some March activities but I'm not going to my tasting until end of March and not picking out rings until then either (planning on using part of my tax return to pay for those). I'm also going to be super busy the first 3 weekends of March (traveling) so I'm not expecting much out of myself that month except the tasting. Rings can wait until April if we don't get to it.

-Figure out second set of centerpieces
-FI is going to ask the rest of his GM this month so then hopefully we can discuss tuxes

  • Lori - FH would love to have an ice cream cake. I may have to look into that, our venue allows any outside cake for no fee. Are you doing it for your main cake or a groom's cake?

    My February list:

    To Do:
    Talk to friend about officiating
    Draft ceremony
Contact venue to get finalized menu and price
    Look at/get sized for rings
    Potentially contact artist for invitations

    Continuous projects:
Research honeymoon (won't book until at least March)
Get ideas for flowers and price
Look at jewelry and hair ideas

FI and I don't like regular cake so we are having it as our main cake.  We originally wanted Carvel to do it but their branches are closing like crazy around here so we're going to see what Coldstone has to offer.  We don't want to do a cake cutting ceremony so we prob won't have anything on display (FMIL keeps insisting we need something to show but we don't care.)  We'll just serve the cake when dinner is over.  We're also doing a dessert bar so there will be other options as well.

  • RE: boudoir shoots

I am actually going with my hairdresser/BM so I we are telling our Dh/Fis that we are doing a trial for hair and make-up then  going out to lunch/runnning errands, we have to drive 2 hours away for the photographer-so kind of like if I had her last sat morning appointment and then we went out roaming around, they are used to us spendign hours at target and starbucks, and even longer if we go out to lunch somewhere with booze lol
