Honeymoon Registry

I am thinking of creating a honeymoon registry. We already have our house & house hold goods, so instead of registering for stuff we already have I thought about this. I did a google search for honeymoon registries and a couple different places came up. Have any of you done this? And if so which one did you use?

    There are a lot of opinions on here about honeymoon registries, but I can tell you that a coworker of mine used Honeyfund.com and had a good experience with them.

    We used honeyfund.com as well, and so far we have liked it. I would suggest having a regular registry as well for those who do not want to give on the honeymoon registry, though. I'm sure you could still find some random items that you don't already have, just to give people more options.

    I think it is horribly inappropriate. My fiance and I have tons of household stuff as well, but I will not be registering for anything on our honeymoon, aka vacation. You wouldn't normally help someone pay for a vacation would you?
    We have so much stuff in our house already I really don't know how we are going to put more kitchen, bath, dining stuff in our house - but we will try! We're going to upgrade towels and register for china, vacuum.... There are things you can register for that won't possibly upset your guests. Just a thought.

I didn't ask for your opinion if you liked the honeymoon registries. I asked for people that have used them, which one did they use.

    Secondly, I do plan on making a regular registry so people have the choice. And honestly if I went to a wedding or bridal shower and they had a honeymoon registry I really wouldn't mind putting forth that gift. Especially if they already have a home and household goods. Why give them something that they could get 10 of or something that is just going to sit in their home and get no use?!

    People will post their opinions whether you ask for them or not (on any post, not just HM related), so I suggest you lose the attitude about it (and I'm not trying be snarky saying that, having an attitude and being uber defensive just makes you look bad, especially when you are a newb).  If you don't like something someone has to say, just ignore it and move on.  You will find that you get helpful information and not so helpful information on here, but you just need to sort through it yourself and determine which applies most to your situation.

    As far as the HM registries, there is a sticky on the R&G board that you should read.  Also, for future reference, please check a few pages back or do a search before you post to see if your question has already been answered.  Just saying you might get some snarky responses just because it's a post that comes up ALL THE TIME and people don't like repeating themselves...

    Whether you were tying to be defensive or not, it came off that way, especially the bolded parts.  I'm not saying you can't defend your position (I've done it lots of times myself), I was just trying to offer helpul advice for posting on toucy subjects in the future, especially as somewhat of a newb.

    Regardless, the bulk of that was to lay off the "I didn't ask for your opinion" statements because you will never win that battle, I promise.  Really, just trying to help out.  The HM registry topic can get pretty heated sometimes...

    nicole...i think the honeymoon registry is a great idea and Im thinking of doing this for myself. We too have all the "crap" we need and more! ha Some people like to give a gift card so this is a great way for those people to do so!! If you find any useful info, please share!
