FI's Wedding Ring - Check!

Okay ... really really good news.  I've been shopping around and found the ring that I want for my FI's wedding band, but was way concerned about the price.  

Well... Tanger Outlets just opened up right down the road, and Kay Jeweler's has an outlet store there, and was having a MASSIVE Sale.  So, I got the "dream" wedding band for my FI at a GREAT price!  (no, didn't pay the price you see listed online. did MUCH better!)


I had planned to have the ring "purchased" by December so that I could take advantage of the jewelry store's layaway (interest free, 20% or more downpayment) plan with 6 months or more to go... and I've succeeded!  The layaway payments are totally interest free, there is no re-stocking fee if we change our minds, and I managed to get it at a price that is just unreal with all of the comparables I've found online.  WOOOOOOT!

    Congrats!  And I LOVE Tanger Outlets, we have one around here that is super fun to shop at.  :D

    Oh - and for the record, I saw on some other boards on TK that people were looked down on for advertising how much they spent on something, so I didn't want to look like a cheapskate, or loose in the wallet (depends on your perspective), so I don't want to put up the price we finally settled on.  I hope you didn't take my OP as bragging.  Just really happy I was able to afford what I want for my FI within my very limited personal budget.  I have saved up for this purchase and I actually could have paid cash for it but to make my budget more comfortable so I can still add to my emergency fund, this was a great find!  There was no financial penalty, so the layaway just made sense for me.  :-)

    That's great!  When we were shopping for DH's ring, the one we really liked was sooo expensive so I looked around online and found an online jewelry store with the same ring for 1/3 the price!  I agree with you that it is awesome to find a great deal!!

    That's awesome! We actually just got FI's wedding band for a really good price as well. Finding deals is the best :)

    FI and I went together and picked out our wedding bands.  The one FI picked is stainless steel.  I never in a million years have picked that for him, but he INSISTED that it was his favorite in the whole store.  I even said out loud, "honey I can afford to buy you a ring out of something a little more expensive than what they make scissors out of."  He would not budge.  So I spent like $100 on that, haha.  FI is a cheap date. ;-)

    lol-ing at "cheap date"!!  My FI would have been happy with a bag tie if I gave it to him.
