Hey ladies,
I realize now that this is in this board's faq, but learn from my mistake! I replied to a post on the E-board and a fellow knottie asked me to post on here too.
It was my fault for not listening to my inner voice; I was just trying to save my girls some money because I know how expensive a wedding is for them especially since they will be traveling. Such a fool, I am! Lesson learned, but I would warn any other bride not to do it! We ordered my BM dresses from one and I just got them this week. I think they look terrible. Not even close to the same color as the real dress (which by the way, it's not a wholesale of the designer dress, it is a seamstress throwing together a knockoff!). The picture on the site was exactly from the Nordstrom's site, so I thought it was the same manufactuer selling directly. Not so. I think the thing that I really didn't get from that site before is that isn't not wholesale, as in selling the original designers, without the middle man, but really a seamstress trying to recreate it. I never would have if I had known, but the sites really don't put that upfront.
The colors look way more weird in person, but it is much more of a really dark plum/blue than violet, but the midsection is a violet satin (which by the way I don't think it was supposed to be anything satin). So I'm very disappointed because the main color doesn't match anything in my wedding now. There are bad seams all over, and I don't even know how to describe the bodice and how they placed a minimum amount of chiffon over the chest area. And each dress is a little different; now tell me how that is when they apparently made the dresses after my order?! No size tags (I have 3 different sized girls). On and on. I posted the original dress, plus some of the dress pics below as a warning.
Oh yeah, and did I mention that the seller is refusing my refund/return request?! Yeah, he offered me $65 refund for all 3. And even if I can get a full refund from him (not holding my breath), I will still have to pay for shipping to China.....that's a pretty penny I wasn't budgeting for! By the end of this, Nordstrom's would have actually been cheaper!
Luckily, it's far enough out that I may end up eating the cost of the dresses for my girls and finding something else for them, but definitely don't do this for any of your dresses. It is worth being happy with your attire. Don't go down this road!!
