I don't get why the house I rent won't allow more than one dog. There's a fenced yard and plenty of room for two dogs to roam around. I don't really think there's a substantial difference as far as the damage they could do to the house.

Oh lordy. You guys are saying you don't get pet free places. I'm saying pet free places are there for people with allergies and explaining why. My logic is not flawed it is you computing abilities that are flawed.
Rosie, we don't have rental restrictions on pets, but currently don't have a dog. I work really weird hours and we leave for work at 7am and often won't get home until 10pm many days during the week. It wouldn't really be fair to a dog, and I'm allergic to cats. As soon as we get a house and things get a bit more calm schedule-wise, I fully intend to have pets. They make me happy.
I don't get people who let their dogs lick their face. As discussed in the morning thread, the sound of a dog licking itself is skeevy and then to think that they are going to lick your face after they just licked their butt...it makes me a little queasy.
I know dogs have "cleaner" mouths than humans, but I don't want to run the risk that the dog just licked itself and then basically wiped it all on my face.
Rosie, I think some people genuinely should not own pets. They may not have the time, money, patience or maturity to deal with another living creature, let alone to train it.
BIL is one of those people, though he has three dogs and three cats and cannot afford veterinary care. That didn't stop him from getting the third dog two years ago while on vacation.
I don't like coffee. It's bitter and leaves an awful aftertaste.
I think some people shouldn't have pets even if they are fully capable. Not everyone is cut out to be a pet owner, just like not everyone is cut out to be a parent.

Well, everyone knows that when you have two dogs instead of one, they start doing things like rewiring the electrical system, installing illegal hot tubs, and removing load-bearing walls. :-P
I don't get why my program isn't working. Like seriously, I don't understand what the problem is. I have to QA a really old version of this program (2006) to back up the analysis of a building that is now in operation.

I don't like coffee but I'm trying to get into it to avoid Diet Coke. My H just bought an espresso machine but the espresso he made for me the other day tasted like an ashtray.

I'm in a no-pet place with a landlord who lives on the bottom floor of our building with 2 dogs in a 1 bedroom I kind of get it, but its still frustrating that FI and I can't get a pet and she gets TWO.
How do full time 9-5 working pet owners do it? Just curious. I'd love to sweet talk our landlord into letting us have one, but I don't know how we would keep it from getting lonely?
Geaux, I'm SO with you on the TTC sig/countdown. I get it, you're trying to have a baby, but doesn't it get to a point when after each time you figure out you aren't pregnant, it becomes a painful experience (emotionally)?
