Workout Accountability: Thursday

Hello, welcome to Thursday.

I was so tired when I got home from work, but I eventually made myself go run.  I felt a little slow, but the weather was so nice so I ended up running 3.5 miles. I was getting all sorts of annoyed on the path though, since the nicer weather tends to bring out all the people who like to walk in groups and I have to pass them every few minutes it seems. 

I'm lifting tonight (lower body circuit) and spending some quality time with the elliptical. 

How'd everyone else do?

  • Morning

    Not so well on the workout train here.  I was still too sore from Monday's weights, but at least I've been crazy busy so I've been on my feet more than normal.  I've also been sticking to pretty much fish and veggies for dinner, with last night being an exception.

    My winning Wed evening: ended up getting a little drunk at happy hour with a coworker (apparently I now get drunk off of two glasses of wine in a 90 minute period), then came home to a vmail from my mom that my great aunt had passed, so stuffed my face with a bagel for dinner and a big bowl of ice cream in bed.  C'est la vie.

    I doubt I'll have time to workout today, but my legs are finally moving a little bit more easily, so I may try for a long walk at the very least late this evening.

    Jude- groups of walkers are SO annoying!

    I have been an exercise failure! The wedding planning in combo with being tired, feeling like my nipples are going to explode and waves of nausea (due to the blueberry) make it tough to want to do anything but nap in my free time! I am going to just try to be active with walks and hopefully a run over the next few days, and then hike, kayak, swim and be otherwise active on the honeymoon!

    Today I am going to the spa with my mom and sister for massages and manicures and pedicures. It is my last day of work for 2 weeks and I cannot WAIT to get out of here!

    Lobster that sucks about your aunt :( so sorry to hear that, last week I lost a woman who was like an aunt to me and I pretty much dealt with it the same way-just replace bagel and ice-cream with peanut butter (straight outta the jar) and chocolates.


    I went to the gym last night and on advice of other knotties really stepped up my weights and pushed hard. did an hours work out with assisted pull ups (upped the weight) arm curls, sit ups, some machine that uses weights and your legs (Im still new to the gym so I have no idea what most of the machines are actually called) planks, and a bunch of other stuff.....today my arms and abs  are aching!

    going back tonight for the treadmill-its a long weekend in Canada and FI birthday so I know I am going to be drinking a lot of strongbows and wine-better get as much in now as I can.

  • Lobsters - I am so, so sorry to hear about your great Aunt.

    This morning I went to spin, though I don't know how great of a work out I got. I think there was something wrong with the bike I was using. The gears are magnetized. And constantly I get on the bike to start and the previous person who used it didn't take all the gears off (which supposedly messes with the calibration). Anyways, I was using WAY higher gears than usual just to feel resistance. I feel like I didn't get a good work out because I was constantly second guessing where I was and messing with the gears. Trying to stay motivated even though I was super disappointed with my fat loss measurement this past weekend.

    This morning we lifted shoulders & back and did 30 minutes of intervals on the elliptical.

  • Yesterday was SORT of a rest day. I went and played disk golf with the FI for an hour before dinner because I needed to get to 10,000 steps for the day. Ended the day with 12,000 so I'm happy :)

    Tonight is gym night! Looking forward to putting the fitbit to work again.

    kpd--I love that you refer to it as the blueberry!  Made me smile.  Hope you feel better and enjoy your spa day.

    It's been a busy week here.  I didn't workout last night, but had a good walk Monday and a very long 2.5 hour gym night Tuesday.  I was very sore yesterday.  Today will be weights and some cardio.  And my eating isn't perfect, but much more reasonable this week, so I'm thankful for that.  And my scale went in the right direction today, so yay!  Happy Thursday everyone!

  • Lobsters so sorry about your aunt Kpd trust me mom of 2 you are going to be exhausted over the next few months, and it's more important now than ever that you listen to your body. It's good to stay active but don't put to much pressure on yourself As for me another day of insanity.... And have been right at 1200 calories all week..... Yay have a good day ladies

    Hi Ladies.  Lobsters, sorry to hear about your great aunt. 

    Yesterday was ok....got in a good walk at lunch with lots of hills, but went over my calories by about 200.  FI and I had some time to kill an hour from home while waiting for a meeting with a JP last night, and we ended up at dairy queen.  It was SO good though! 

    Back to the gym tonight for a step class, and probably a quick walk after dinner as well.  Have a great day, everyone!

    I'm kinda new on here so just wanted to say Hi. Hoping your guys can give me some support and motivation to get my ass in gear for my wedding in Sept. At the same time I hope to do the same for you guys, you ladies seem so nice.

    Lobsters, so sorry to hear about your loss, my prayers are with you and your family.

    As for my accountability this week I have been having a so/so week. Eatting better, but only hit the gym three days was hoping for four or five.

  • Unfortunately I couldn't bike to work this morning so instead I drove in a little early and did some weights at the gym instead.     Back on the bike tomorrow and hopefully all next week.

    I made it to the gym last night for 35 min. of elliptical and some arms. This morning I did 30ds and I'm hoping to get in a nice, long walk tonight with the dog because it's a gorgeous day.

    KPD: This is such an exciting time for you! Enjoy every second and take time to relish in the moments of your wedding; it goes by so quick so be sure to find a few moments where you just take it all in. Enjoy it!

    So after a running hiadis I went for a 4 miler yesterday and my quads are SORE today. I went walking today for 30 minutes and did a deep cleaning to our entire house... that counts right? I'm going to scrub the shower in a minute, but tomorrow I'm going to swim early in the am before work. I haven't been swimming in a while and I miss it. I changed my work schedule to go in at 9am instead of 8am and hope that the extra hour will give me a chance to get my workouts done in the morning... cause they sure aren't happening in the evening after work as I'd like them too. :-)

  • Lobsters, my condolences!

    Tonight I walked home from work (2.3 Miles!) and I also went for a walk before work for about a half hour. Need to get back to the gym, though, so I can start working on tonight in addition to cardio for a while!
