Catholic churches in downtown

I'm looking for Catholic churches that are in downtown Pittsburgh? I know of St. Paul's, Sacred Heart in Shadyside and St. Stanislaus Kostka. Anyone have any experience with those churches or others in the city? Thanks!

Well, none of those are downtown. St Paul's is very hard to get into. Their info is on their website.

I got married at Saint Peter in the North Side, just across the bridge from Downtown. It is a gorgeous Church and the usage fee was well below most other old, gothic churches in the area.
With Saint Peter, unless you are a member of their parish, you have to bring your own priest. The fee in 2009 was $500 for non-members. It is a great space if you are looking for that type of church.

There's also Saint Mary of the Mount in Mount Washington. I think their fee is $1,000.

There are two separate downtown catholic churches, but I forget their names. If you go to the Pittsburgh Diocese website, you can find all of that information.

St. Mary of Mercy is located on the Blvd of the Allies.

Epiphany is located next to Mellon Arena.

We attend Sacred Heart in Shadyside as parishoners (we were not married there, we were married out of state). The church itself is very long and narrow,and based on the homilies by the pastor, he's pretty particular who he marries - so if you decide on that church my advice is to be very Catholic when you call - don't ask quesions about aisle length for runners, etc,. He seems pretty opinionated about couples living together, the level of catholic faith in their relationship, etc. As soon as we buy a house, we're switching parishioners to a new church, that's just our opinon.

We're getting married at St. Boniface just north of the city- it's like the first exit after crossing Veterans Bridge, on East Street. We are not parishioners, so we had to bring our own priest in, but they are flexible and nice and the church is beautiful.

ETA: I think the church rental fee is $850.

St. Paul's and Sacred Heart aren't exactly downtown - they're in the Oakland/Shadyside area which is about 5-10 mins out of the city. I'm not entirely sure of the catholic churches downtown... but they both aren't far at all from the city which is nice.

We're getting married at St. Paul's Cathedral and it was close to impossible to get in there! Luckily, there was a cancellation and we were next on the waiting list (our wedding is May 2011). If you're thinking of St. Paul's I would suggest to call them ASAP and get your name on the list. They have a 2:00pm and 4:00pm time on Saturdays and they fill up quickly. Both St. Paul's and Sacred Heart are close to $1,000 for non-parishioners so just something else to keep in mind! I just got all of the paperwork from St. Paul's in the mail to sign and everything and they are EXTREMELY picky about what you can and can't do.... that being said it is SO beautiful and I couldn't be more thrilled that we got it! Duquesne University has a nice chapel on campus that gets used by a lot of alumni. I think they also rent it out to non-alumni. The campus is gorgeous for pictures and with the recent renovations there are great views of downtown from the campus.
