    ooohhhh babe!!!!!

So the place you wanted is taking you back and forth on the location being booked then not booked... UGH!

Maybe that place isn't the best option if they are so unorganized and it's not even the Wedding Day

    LINDA!!!

My mind has been all over the place I forgot to even email you about this NONSENSE!!!

Well, we left a deposit back in November and then we pulled out in February but they are trying to keep our money which is why they tell one person  that they are booked and then when it comes to me calling or someone calling on my behalf then they are NOT booked...it is bound to get UGLY!!!

And we dont even wanna deal with them now cause we could have applied our deposit to another day but me and Tyrone said HELL NO!

Oh no, K.  These people are jerks.  I forgot how much you guys put down for a deposit.  Was it too much to give them the middle finger and just write them off?

<div>I really hate sounding harsh, but I'm assuming you booked this location with a contract, and I'm sure that the contract stated terms of cancellation.  Perhaps there was a miscommunication over the phone with them, but you decided to change your date/location.  Many places are struggling still due to the economy, and frankly they are businesses that need to make money to stay afloat.  I think it's only fair that they keep the deposit, and I think it's mighty nice of them to offer to refund the deposit if someone else books your date there.</div><div>
</div><div>I think it's time to count this as a lesson learned, and move on.  There are many other ways to save on expenses for a wedding, so perhaps you can make up for some of the money lost in another way.</div>

I would have to agree with CurlyGirlyGirl's response. It totally sucks to lose money, but that is the penalty for cancelling. We cancelled our first venue and lost our deposit and never questioned it. Fortunately, it was only $1000, and it was the best thing for us to do.

Everything will work out and just try to move on from here.

The contract states that as long as the date is booked we will receive our deposit back minus so we are obligated to the other $1500...

They are not playing fair...AT ALL
