Hey ladies.
My brother just informed me that he and his fiancee' have broken up. She cancelled her wedding shower for this weekend.
I don't know if they will work it out or not, but for now at least, everything is on hold.
Here's my question--Should I see if I can cancel the order on my very expensive BM dress? She just "added" my recently because someone else dropped out, and then she went and ordered dresses. So..um...what do I do? Sit and wait, and probably not be able to return it? Or contact the shop right away and see if I can cancel?
Even if they do work it out, I am thinking the wedding date will change now. So, erm...what the heck do I do?

So, when I canceled my wedding, once the dresses were ordered, the was no turning back. Any deposit that was made not only couldn't be refunded, but they had to pay off the rest of the dress. So, my friends have a $160 dress in their closet that they're not wearing, at least to my wedding.
I would call them immediately and see if anything can be done, but IME, you're stuck.
I offered to reimburse my BMs. None of them wanted me to, but, I would hope your brother or his exFI do the same!
I'm sorry for your brother! And you!
Originally, she wanted me to be her MOH. Then she decided to have her 3 friends be the only BMs. Then one dropped out and she added me in.

Sorry, Jasmineh.

I didn't actually go order the dress. She just texted me after she ordered it and let me know. The shop is closed now, but I'll go by tomorrow and see what my options are.

[QUOTE]Thanks. I feel so much better now! I don't want to be insensitive, but the dress is $200, and I'd rather not waste that much money.

Yeaaah. I don't blame you at all there. I would definitely cancel.
Sorry to hear that!
[QUOTE]I wonder if, worst case scenario, you could sell it somewhere.

It is floor length, teal, and kind of Grecian. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-sealed.gif" border="0" alt="Sealed" title="Sealed" /> I could put it on oncewed or something if all else fails. Good idea.
