AW Thursday

Finally I'm going to AW our invites, which is about as DIY as I get! They went out a few days ago... yay!

They're really simple, which is exactly what I wanted.

Re: AW Thursday

  • You did a really great job on those. I thought about doing invites DIY but just the thought of all that work. I changed my mind pretty quickly.

  • Yay, invites! It's such a good feeling to get those suckers in the mail. :)

Today we are getting our marriage license, picking up FI's ring, buying my jewelry, getting him fitted for his tux, picking up my dress from Becky, and making my 1 week vendor phone calls.  I can't believe I'm getting married next Friday... I am getting so nervous! (I hate being up in front of people)

Carrie - Those are SO cute! Did you use any kind of template or were they completely DIY? P.S. I responded to your question on OL Wed. late last night. Feel free to respond to my response here. Haha. :)

Amy - Man, you are going to get so much done today! Super impressive!

I don't have any AWs YET...but maybe in a few hours.

  • I used a template from Wedding Chicks. As soon as I saw it I HAD to have it. We bike a lot and it was just perfect. My dad owns his own (small) business, so I went to his office and used his nice printer and cutting board. I would say overall (without addressing them) it took about 5 hours. That includes gluing the green cardstock to the invite.
And the only postcard stamps you can get in 2012 are Hawaiin shirts (hideous) so I just ran the RSVP's through the postage machine. Kind of ruins the look a bit, but no more than tropical attire.

Amy - I am jealous of your productivity!!!

ej- That's so neat! I've totally brought FI around on hockey. Unfortunately, the first Stars game I took him to, they won 10-2 and he was like, wow, hockey's cool and I was like ummm that's not normal. And the next game we went to we lost 0-1. My goal is to visit every NHL stadium and so far I've made it to 5 including Dallas.
  • Cute, Carrie! Biology EOC is today. Wish me good health. William Braun from Pinstripes is meeting me at school to pick up my dress for preservation! I'm a little sad that we won't be doing bride and groom pics, but such is life.

What the heck? Really? That's awful! I guess I will be rethinking the postcard RSVPs now, haha. Thanks for the heads up. I agree that the printed postage is definitely a better choice. I wonder if any of the custom stamp sites do postcards? Hmm.

That is a really cool goal! FI's family is all from upstate NY so he's a huge Buffalo Sabres fan (and I have to admit, he has converted me). Have you been to their stadium by any chance? We plan on going next year (Buffalo + Canada trip, possibly). Anyway, the Stars did do pretty well this year! :)

Ok, I did think of one AW. The spray tan that I got last night is the ish! It's just enough to not make me look pasty white in the sun this weekend, and it's really natural looking. If anyone is wanting to try this, on the cheap LMK because I would definitely recommend this girl. $25/individual session, 2 for $40, 5 for 80 and she comes to you. ETA: Sorry if I'm sounding vendor-esque here, just wanted to share my good find!

Actually, it does show the breaks on the regular site...you just can't see them on the mobile one. It did that to me last night, too. So no worries!

  • Haha, productivity on this level is such a rarity for me.  It's only until I'm down to the wire that I get this productive, and 1 week is getting pretty much down to the wire!

Carrie, that's awesome you got to print those at your dad's business!  I didn't hand address mine (for shame, for shame) but I just picked out a nice script font and printed everything right onto the envelopes.  I was surprised at how quickly it all got done.

Professor -- When I use the mobile TK on my Droid, I never get paragraph breaks.  Sometimes I don't even get punctuation.

Good to know! I need to stop posting from my phone anyway. I keep accidentally closing threads on the Catholic board!

And we had these froofy flower stamps for our RSVP cards. There's not much out there for postcard stamps.

  • EJ - Now that I think about it, I haven't been to any Eastern Conference stadiums. I've done Dallas (Reunion and AAC), Minnesota (St Paul), Nashville, Chicago, and LA. I'm still mad that while FI was living in LA that we never made it out to Anaheim, but we did get to see the Kings.
  • Ugh, I completely feel you on those hideous Hawaiian shirt postcard stamps. When we sent out our Save the dates, at least they had some that were somewhat normal. With our RSVP postcards, we even had one guest ask if it was Hawaiian theme. Uh. No.
Also- LOVE the wedding chicks! Your invitations are adorable! I used their templates for all my menus (see below).

FI and I are pretty much all done. Got my dress in for alterations, programs completed, cake topper done, menus printed, thank you cards done, and marriage license. Only things left are  to pack everything up and figure out what I am going to do as my giant chandelier. Oh, and our altar backdrop. Pretty big things, but I am sure I can conjure something up.

Anyways, here is an overdose of aw-ing:

  • aeliza06 those are all so cute! I have a ways to go before I need to do those things yet. Hmmm I might have to DIY some of that this winter.
