Wedding Party

creative wedding party gifts?

I'm looking for cute/creative gift ideas for my bridesmaids. I'm not really into the personalized bag/t-shirt/bracelet/jewelry box thing that I seem to see everywhere. Does anyone have some advice for unique gifts that my bridesmaids will love?

  • This will be one of the first posts of several to say shop like it's their birthday/Christmas/other gift-giving occasion.  They don't need to be matchy-matchy or wedding related, and your BMs will appreciate it much more and get more use out of a gift that you put real thought into, instead of just getting everyone pink monogrammed flasks or something.  Gift certificates for their favorite restaurants, a book by their favorite author, tickets to their favorite team, whatever.
  • I agree with PP shop for them individually.
I am also concidering getting my BMs picture frames with and IOU inside, then after the wedding giving them a picture of both of us together having fun.

  • Wedding party gifts do not have to be matchy-matchy, and they do not have to be wedding centered.

Take the word "bridesmaid" out of the equation altogether.  Think of each of your friends as......well, your friends.  Now go shopping.  Pretend it's her birthday.  Pretend it's Christmas.

Get the wine lover a great stopper.  Get the music fan a CD of their favorite group or a concert tix.  Get the reader a gc to a book store or for a download on her kindle.  Get the cook a piece of cookware of a cool cookbook.   See where this is going?

You're buying a gift for a friend, not just a bridesmaid.
"Trix, it's what they/our parents wanted. Why so judgemental? And why is your wedding date over a year and a half ago? And why do you not have a groom's name? And why have you posted over 12,000 posts? And why do you always say mean things to brides?" palegirl146
  • Shop for them as friends, not bridesmaids. What would you get them for their birthdays?
