DJ recommendations?

We have started looking at DJs and there are so many out there I have no idea where to begin. On top of that, pricing seems to be all over the place. Does anyone have recommendations for a good DJ that is reasonable in price?

How do you girls feel about hiring a DJ from craigslist? There isn't a lot of room left in our budget for an expensive DJ, but at the same time I realize a bad DJ could really spoil the party. Thoughts??

We used Knight Sounds, mostly because they are the preferred vendor for MB and our wedding coordinator would set the whole thing up.  But, they were awesome!  They also have a very detailed worksheet for you to fill out prior to the event, which I think made a huge difference.  We extended our reception an hour because people were having such a good time dancing.

I used Calvin Duncan he goes by Dj Godzilla and I found him from Craigslist the week before our wedding I paid 200 dollars for as many hrs as I wanted..he was awesome and I totally recommend him. Our friends loved him, as well as our family.. he played what I wanted.. it was like having our own little club. He does a lot of mixing if your into that..

Thanks for the recommendations - I will look into both options. I'm a bit relieved to hear that a vendor from craigslist worked out for you. I'm always hearing about craigslist disasters it has made me a little nervous.

Does anyone else have other recommendations?
