Help! Coming to miami for a few days, what to do???

Hi girls,
So my fiance and i live in nyc and will be coming down to miami this week for a few days. Our wedding is on SOBE in Feb 2011...so far we have the venue....and thats about it.  What slse should we plan to do??? Im lost!

We are meeting with the venue who will have their preferred florist and DOC for us to speak to. Should we find an alternate florist and ppl for lighting, linens in case we want some options???

Any recommendations for a florist or person for linens & Lighting? Should we look into chivari chair rentals from now? i guess we can search for room block hotels as well, do you think we should go speak to the hotels personally?

    Congrats and how exciting is this trip to Miami???? I would make sure you guys do things that NEED to be done in person like cake tasting, food tasting, etc.  while you are here.  I would definitley make appointments to see other florists and vendors other than your venues preffered unless they dont give you a choice.  At least that way you will have options.  I would meet with photographers also if you get a chance.  I guess its not really a must but I think its important to click with and have a relationship with your photographer.  Good luck!

    I wuold definitely consider having alternates to meet with as well. And I agree with the previous post which mentions meeting with people to make sure you really click with them! You want to be confident and comfortabel with the people working for you on your wedding day! And welcome to south florida!
