What did you wear for your engagement photos?

Our engagement photo session is coming up in 2 weeks and I have NO IDEA what to wear!  FI and I are living in Washington state but we're both from Ohio, so we're going to get them taken when we're home during Christmas.  Since it's going to be cold as f in Ohio we're doing both indoor and outdoor shots.  What did all of your wear for your engagement photos?  I need some inspiration!

    It depends on where you're doing them. We wore blue jeans, with a combo of white and orange

    Our indoor shots are going to be at a botanical gardens type place and the outdoor shots will be in an artsy neighborhood.

    FI and I are doing all white in our photos. We're both "darker" complexion so the white will look great against our skins and especially in black and white photos. Also we can do outdoor or indoor with that.

    The other option I'm "trying" to get FI to go for is the 1950's shoot at a nightclub here in Virginia. I think he'd look soooo fine in a derby style hat. Alas! Getting him in a suit for the wedding....may be all I'm gonna get! Humph!

    I think you guys can do a french shoot...like him in sweaters with a nice hat....and you in a cute beret with a tulle style skirt....some pearls....would be artsy yet...not clash with the botanical gardens (that's your dilemma...blending two totally different venues...into one shoot UNLESS you're doing wardrobe change).

    We did ours at a waterfront in Jersey and also while strolling through the Borroughs of NY.

    We had on white tops and blue jeans for one set of pics and then for the other set we had on natural colors such as army greens.

    We had  casual and dressy attire for our photos.  Our casual attire was denim with orange and blue shirts and our dressy attire was something I always thinks looks classy: black and white.  Whatever you choose, please please please be sure you are comfortable in it!!! I've seen some of my friends epics where they wore a dress or shirt just for style but wasn't comfy in the clothes and it reflected in the photos.

    We took two sets so we had a few different outfits. I think it just depends on what vibe you're going for and the locations that you chose. Let us know what you want and maybe we can help put something together.

    We did 3 outfits for the first set.
    1) Me in a black jumper (shorts) and him in a black and white polo and shorts.
    2) Me in a turquoise/white embroidered dress and him in a white polo and shorts.
    3) Me in an orange dress and him in a green and orange polo and khakis.

    2 outfits for the second set.
    1) Me in a red dress and him in dress pants, shirt, and red/white tie.
    2) Me in a black leather jacket and black jeans and him in a army-type shirt and black jeans with boots.

    Kiya - where in Ohio are you taking your pics?  We already took one set of e-pics last June and now we are taking another set in January.  :) 

    For the first set, we wore:

    1) I was in a purple cocktail type dress, he was in a brown suit/tie
    2) I was in a turquoise/white/black print maxi-dress (sundress), he was in a navy shirt, tan linen pants and sandals (covered toes - LOL)
    3) I was in a black shirt and fitted jeans and high heeled sandals, he was in a white button down shirt with jeans and a blue and white hat

    For the first set we are going for a winter theme, so I am still considering options.  FI looks awesome in sweaters, so I'm excited to see him in those type of outfits.  I love the idea of a French-type of look...we might have to steal that one!  :)

    Cincy - we're taking our indoor shots at the Franklin Park Conservatory on the east side of Columbus, and then our outdoor shots will be in the Short North which is downtown.  

    I think I'm going to wear a red one-shoulder dress for the indoor shots, my only concern though is that the dress is a satin-llike material.  Do you think that would cause a reflection and make me look bigger?  I'm just not sure what to wear outside since it's going to be cold.  I was thinking about wearing layers so I didn't have to wear a coat, but if it's absolutely freezing then I have no choice.

    I almost ended up in a red one-shoulder satin, but changed dresses last minute so it was still red and one-shouldered, but a different material. I never even thought about it adding weight. Hmm...
