Have you ever done one?
If so, through who?

I just got the vacation bug (yes, I know I just got back from vacation) as it'd be really nice to get away for a weekend with T since we never get to do that.

I'd like to go to SF again or somewhere here, in AZ but I think it'd be fun to be staying in a cool apartment instead of a hotel.

    I know people who have done it in NY via craigslist and have saved a ton.  The hotels here are so expensive that the rental was cheaper. You should come here!

    We got our apartment through homeaway.com and we are very happy.  It actually ended up being cheaper, and I'm doing laundary FOR FREE!

    Yeah it is hard to do a weekend.  You should come next July 4 weekend and come to my wedding!

    Haha, I was taking a break from writing and read the subject as "Vatican Rentals".  I was like, hmmm didn't know you could rent the Vatican.

    Haha!  I've been in Cali for 3 days and I still can't get past IL time.  I could fall asleep at any moment.  Then I wake up at like 6 AM.

    See i don't mind the cleaning up.  Granted, I haven't had to do much.  I'm doing laundry tonight but I don't mind.  I'm exhausted from today so its not a bother to stay in.

    I also like that we can cook and not have to eat out every night.

    Everything has pros and cons, its just a matter of what's more important.

    I don't know about others, but ours has a cleaning service that comes in when we leave, so we could leave a mess, I suppose.  We aren't here enough though to make a mess.

    My friends and I rented a house in Galveston for a weekend, right before it was washed away. It was a cool old house  with 4 bedrooms and an awesome living area and kitchen. It ended up costing us each about $80 for the weekend, and was well worth it. We were only blocks from the beach.

    We went through a vacation property rental site.

    I've always rent through here. You can definitely save a lot by staying in a condo/apartment. You can cook your own meals :). Good luck!

    That's who we use too. We've rented a house in Gulf Shores twice and we're going back again in 2 weeks!!!
