Weekend plans?

Hi ladies!  What fun stuff is everyone up to this weekend?  Is the weather where you live supposed to be any better than the grossness in Chicago?

DH will be home tonight from being out of town, so I'll make dinner and relax a bit.  Tomorrow, we are seeing Aviatar and dinner.  Sunday, the usual cleaning, cooking and hanging out.

LaFem...I'm coming to your town over Memorial Day weekend...so excited!  I love Chicago!

My ILs are visiting - a last minute decision on their end, which sucks.

We don't really have plans other than dinner tomorrow and maybe seeing Avatar.  Although 3-D and IMAX movies make me kinda motion sick, so I wonder if it is worth it to see it just as a normal movie.  Hmmm.

I have class tomorrow morning and will have to work on homework probably both Sat & Sun. DH & I were going to have date night tonight and go to the mall (I'm dragging him so I can get rid of my returns!) and dinner. But, I'm kind of feeling like just having a pizza and hanging out at home, so we'll see. Not sure what's up for the rest of the weekend.

The weather has been beautiful here this week, high 70s!

K, my co-worker saw it as a 3-D movie and gets very motion sickness.  She said the only time she felt sick was before the movie when they were showing the commercials in 3-D.  Otherwise, it was pretty smooth and it didn't feel like anything was flying at you!!  Her telling me that is why I am finally going to see it this weekend.  I hate movies that are in 3-D and Imax, makes me really nauseous.

As you all know, my weekend is up in the air. Tonight DH is going to play cards, so I'll be home alone. I'm going to read and do a few scrapbook pages. Tom. we are meeting Sara and her FI for lunch (yay!!), and then having a movie night with friends. Sunday is tenatively church and grocery shopping.

I loved Avatar!! At first I didn't think it was my type of movie, but I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. We didn't see it in 3D or Imax, but I still thought the imagery was amazing! Definitely worth seeing it as a "normal" movie.

JennyBee, I wish!  Maybe someday :)  You always do the coolest stuff!

C, what will bring you to Chicago?  It's a great city, and the weather should actually be nice by then!

We're doing a progressive dinner with some friends tomorrow that I am pretty excited about.  Some of my friends are going to see Avatar tonight but I'm undecided, for the same reasons about 3D movie motion sickness/headaches.

FI and I went to our sad excuse for a mall today and had lunch, which we never get to do.
Tomorrow he is going to an auction in either Bedford or Somerset, and I'm going to work on some more DIY stuff.  Sunday we plan on relaxing:-)
LaFemme-I love progressive dinners, so much fun!  What course are you doing?

Jen, I have been to Chicago a lot (ex-boyfriend lived there) so I've seen all the wonderful sites of the amazing city!  Scott has never been and has always wanted to go. I've been to Chicago over memorial day weekend, got me a horrible sunburn while sitting in Grant Park - ouch!!

C, I have gotten a horrible sunburn while sitting on North Ave beach :)  It will be a great trip!  Let me know later on if you want restaurant/bar recs!

This is my first progressive dinner!  We've only done progressive cocktail parties before, ha!  FI and I volunteered for the main course since I'm the only vegetarian and wouldn't want to make anyone else have to cook something veggie friendly.  So- I'm going to be making a tweaked version of this:

And FI is going to be making a savory meatball accompaniment for everyone except me to eat :)

Sounds like everyone is having a great weekend!

Tonight we are probably going to relax and pack up a few more items.

Tomorrow, we are going to go do a final run through of our new home.  Meeting up with a PGH Knottie to give her a few items for her big day.  My job is having a townhall function in the evening so that will be fun.

Sunday, another relax day and pack a few things.

I am getting really anxious about our closing on Thursday!!!

KR  I saw Avatar on IMAX and I only had to take the glasses off once during the movie. Awesome movie but I'm sure it is great any way you see it. We didn't have previews in ours. Hmm. Oh and it is a long movie. It was sold out and i couldn't take how jammed in we were. Ugh.

Going to see the band Radio Tokyo at Steelhouse tonight! Great band.
