I am thinking of giving cookie cutters as a favor for our fall themed wedding. Everyone would get one of their own. The cookie cutters would be an acorn, maple leaf and other leaf so that families wouldn't have all the same kind. The cookie cutters would also be attached to the escort cards. I have found the cookie cutters in bulk that works out to about $0.80 a person. These are metal cookie cutters that look sturdy and are dishwasher safe. If some people forgot theirs then we will donate them to someplace like a women's shelter.

If it is just the cookie cutter, then most guests will probably end up throwing it in the trash. I like one of the PP's ideas of attaching a cookie in the shape of the cookie cutter and a recipe card. To me, that would make the favor worthwhile. It's a cute idea overall, I just think you should add more to it.
[QUOTE]I don't like the idea, but I'm not a fan of favors that end up shoved in a drawer or closet. How many guests do you have? What about something like this? http://mycakies.blogspot.com/2010/03/diy-cupcake-in-jar.html

I don't find this appealing. I like my cupcakes where I can eat them without a spoon. Besides, don't you have cake too? And as far as a favor that "gets shoved into a cupboard"---where in the world do you think the jar is gonna go??
Go with the cookie cutters. If someone doesn't want to use the cutter, then can leave it, or give it to someone who will want it. It's a usable favor, and I love the idea about donating the rest of them.
