    I'll start.

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?

I have two.  1)  Becoming my parents.  2)  Death

    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?

I think there's no way of knowing with 100% certainty.  That being said, deep down I believe (and hope) there is some sort of afterlife...I really would hate to become nothing more than worm chow.

I believe in some sort of afterlife because I believe in some sort of higher being.  I believe there are some things in the world which cannot be explained and that is evidence of the higher being.  Also, the Big Bang is very telling.  All of the matter in the universe was created in a billionth of a billionth of a billionth of a billionth of a second...on its own?  I think not.  That defies the laws of thermodynamics.

    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?

To love.  To learn from your mistakes and the mistakes of others.  To grow as a person and to handle the obstacles that arise.

    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?

Yup.  The universe is too big for earthlings to be the only life forms.

    5.  How about ghosts?

    Yes.

    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?

Yes.  In high school, my grandpa died.  I lived with my dad at the time.  My dad works for an international bank and would get phone calls to the house every morning at 4-5 am with the new exchange rate.  Every morning, I would ignore the calls and fall right back to sleep.  That particular morning, the phone rang at 5am.  On the first ring, I was wide awake and just *knew* my grandpa died.  I had no way of knowing that, but I knew.  I tried to convince myself I was crazy and tried desperately to fall back asleep, but when my dad came to wake me up an hour or so later, and I asked who called (which I NEVER would've done), he told me grandpa died.

    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?

I think evil is both.  I believe some (but FEW) people are born rotten all the way through.  I believe (some but MOST) people are born good all the way through.  I believe the vast majority of people are born somewhere in the middle.  And I think life experiences and a person's response to said experiences can ultimately make a person go "bad".

    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?

My ex stepmother.  My dad's 2nd wife.  I'm not easily intimidated or scared...but this woman TERRIFIED me.  She had no soul.  She was cold, hard, calculating.  She would be fine and rosy one minute and the next minute, you felt like you were in a room with a demon.  She had the power to manipulate virtually everyone around her.  And just something about her eyes...there was really just no soul behind them.

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?I have two as well: 1) Hitting my head and dying  2) Failure
    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?I don't think there is any way for us to know the answer to this, but I believe our souls go someplace else, because there is no way the rat race we live here on earth is what our souls were created for.
    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?I believe the meaning of life is to love ourselves and others, and to test the limits of what we're capable of.
    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?Yes, I'm with shoes on this one, no way the universe is as large as it is and we're the only intelligent life forms. I also think we might not recognize aliens even if we saw them. They could look like a rock, but because it didn't have two legs, a mouth and eyes, we could easily overlook it.
    5.  How about ghosts?Yep... I have no real reason to believe in them, but just feel that there are probably souls who don't cleanly cross over once they die.
    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?Not really. I've had some brushes with car accidents where I'm not sure how I missed the other person. I guess what I can't explain is how I've lived such a blessed life. Healthy family (except for grandparents, but 3 of 4 lived past 72 yrs old), wonderful sister, amazing friends... so every time I read a story about someone who has gone through something difficult, like cancer, or a family member murdered, I worry that that will be me, because I've lived a pretty charmed life up til this point.
    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?Man shoes, you stole all my answers! I read this (<-clicky) story this morning, and it made me think that someone in his life did some horrible things to him when he was younger to make him think this was ok to do. Yes, some people are evil, but many more that do bad things do them because that's what they've seen growing up, and no one taught them to value life. It's so sad.
    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?I can't really think of anyone that is scary. One of my uncle's is pretty intimidating. I love him to death but he's a loud-mouthed, opinionated a$$hole. I didn't realize until I was 25 or so that I didn't have to take his sh!t if I didn't want to. I don't know how my aunt puts up with it!

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?
Loss of loved ones. Loss of love. Moths. Car accidents. Getting attacked/raped.
    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?
Nothing, really. It just never made sense to me.
    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?
I don't actually think there is one, officially. Up to us earthly inhabitants to treat each other decently and make the world as good a place to be as we can.
    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?
I feel like I would need to do a lot more research to answer this. I'm sure it's possible there are other life forms out there we don't know about.
    5.  How about ghosts?
Nah. As for live people, though, I do think that with great love and connection comes a bit of psychic energy. If you're extremely connected to someone, sometimes a message gets across in a subtle way, when you aren't looking for it.
    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?
Just events in the vein of #5.

Example: The guy I lost my V-card to in 2007 was severely injured (several bones in the front and side of his skull broken) in 2009, and right around that date, I had a dream about him (I think I was kissing his face?), before finding out about the injury. We hadn't talked in a long time, I hadn't thought about him in awhile, then boom. Stuff like that.

    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?
I think good and evil exist in everyone, and again, it's up to us to try to walk in the light, if you will. Sort of like Star Wars--don't surrender to the dark side. I think a lot of the evil has to do with survival instincts, though.
    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?
    Ehhh...probably my mom. She's psychotic.

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)? having something happen to FI or our future children

    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why? Not quite sure, obviously, but I do believe in some sort of afterlife.  I have a hard time believing that this is really it and then when you die it's just nothingness

    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is? I honestly don't think we were ever meant to know.  I dunno, maybe when you die you get the answers to all of lifes mysteries

    4.  Do you believe in Aliens? Yes.  And I've been watching a show called "Ancient Aliens" recently that really makes me think about how much they may have been here.  Some of their theories are still a little 'out there' for me, but it definitely brings up interesting questions...

    5.  How about ghosts?  Yes.  I'm not sure to what extent, but I've seen some pretty compelling stuff, in real life and in shows.

    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?  I remember the Phoenix lights, that was weird.  Also have seen lights in Sedona that we thought were hikers and then seeing the next day that there is no mountain there.

    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait? I think most people are generally good.  Sure, they may have bad traits or have been brought up to act in bad ways, but I think very few people are actually "evil".

    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why? My cousin.  He was always weird growing up, liked killing animals, etc.  I haven't seen him in about 15 years, and probably won't ever see him again considering he's spending life in prison now.

    1. What is/are your biggest fear(s)?

Losing people that I love. I used to be deathly afraid of puking and aliens (don't even get me started on a Martian with a stomach bug) but those were more childhood ones.

    2. What do you believe happens to people after they die? Why?

I believe in heaven and hell. I think you go to one or the other. However, I think that everyone ends up in heaven eventually. And I don't think you go to hell unless you are really, REALLY evil.

    3. What do you think the meaning of life is?
To love and be loved. To experience Earth, the human condition, and live your life the best you can, being kind to your fellow man. You know that saying, "If you love something, set it free"? Yea, I think that's what God did with us. It's not that this is a test or anything, just that this is letting us experience free will for a while before coming back to heaven.

    4. Do you believe in Aliens?
Yes. It is sort of silly not to think that something else exists in this wide universe. And they give me the wicked creeps. I hope they would never attack Earth like in movies, but quite honestly I think the creepiest thing ever is abduction. I think it is more likely, though, that they are pretty peaceful.

My grandfather was an air traffic controller and one night he saw two aircrafts that he couldn't identify, one that looked like a cylinder and one that looked like the stereotypical saucer, and they were so fast that they just appeared in front of the control tower without showing up on the radar. They hovered for a few moments, and my grandfather saw beings walking around on the ships, and then they disappeared as quickly as they had come. Government officials showed up the next day to get an account from everyone there, and then told them not to tell anyone what they had seen. Clearly Gramps was no good at that last part.

    5. How about ghosts?
Yes, although this is a grey area for me. I don't really know how the spirit of a human would "get stuck" here, but I wouldn't discount the possibility. Also, I think it is important to note the different between a ghost, which is a human spirit, and an angel or demon, which have never been human.

    6. Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain? What was it?

Ok, this is all going to start sounding super religious, but I swear I am not preachy. Nor am I religious actually, just very spiritual. I believe in God and the whole nine yards, and that there is spiritual warfare that happens all around us every day that some people are more aware of/in tune with than others. That being said, if spiritual things and the presence of angels/demons makes you uncomfortable, I would skip this next part.

When I was two, my biological father left my mother, my sister and I. Well, my mom made him leave, but he went pretty willingly. It was obviously a hard time for all of us. One night when my mom was putting me to bed, I said, "Mommy, look at the yellow lady!" My mom was tired and didn't think much of it, until I started saying, "No really, Mommy, she is standing right there. She said everything will be okay, and that God loves us and will take care of us. She's really pretty in her yellow dress." To this day there is not a doubt in mine or my mom's mind that I saw an angel.

When I moved into the apartment that I currently live in with BF, sis and FBIL, the back spare room kinda wigged me out and I wasn't sure why. The dog would always pause at the doorway before entering, almost like she didn't really want to, and sometimes she would just bark in the direction of the room. Sometimes when I was standing in there (we turned it into my girly room, where most of my clothes, my dresser, and all my hair and make up stuff was), the hairs on the back of my neck would go up for no reason and I would suddenly want to leave the room. I jokingly commented to my mom and sister one night that there was probably a ghost in there.

When my sister and her FI moved in with us about 7 months ago, I took all of my stuff out of the back room and turned it into their bedroom. On the second night they were there, my sister was woken up by a presence in the room. She wouldn't open her eyes, but she knew that something was standing in the corner of the room trying to get her attention and talk to her. It "told" her that it's name was Mischief and it wanted to play. She started praying, and got the clear indication from God that this was a demon, that it had lived in the back room for quite some time, and it was a lot more sinister than just mischief and to leave it alone. She did her best to ignore it and went back to sleep. The next day at work she told my mom all about it, and they decided that she had to smudge the room (a ritual of burning sage and praying for protection and for dark things to leave an area by "rebuking them in the name of Jesus") so that is what she did as soon as she got home, and the thing left.

A friend of mine told me a story about a girl she knew who had to walk from her friend's house one night to her house through a stretch of woods, and she was really creeped out because it was night time and she was all alone. The next day a man was arrested for prowling the neighborhood and he was a sex offender. When he was questioned, he said he had been hiding in those woods and had seen the girl walking. When they asked why he left her alone, he said, "Why would I approach her when she had a 6'5'' guy standing next to her?" The girl had been completely alone the night before, no guy walking with her. She believed that it was an angel protecting her from the man.

    7. What do you think about the nature of people? Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?

That's a really tricky one - I guess I would say they can be both. I think that everyone is born with the capacity for both good and evil, that is part of being human, but I think since we were created by good, that is our truest nature. Evil exists in the world and the enemy will always try to win people over to its side for more power. I think that evil within a human being comes from this source, and is not inherently part of a human being.

    8. Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?

I'll have to think about this one and get back to you.

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?
Death is definitely up there. I’m too happy with life to die right now. Major illness as well. And something bad happening to a family member. These things would all majorly suck.
    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?
You die. You get buried. You rot. I do like the way they put it in Avatar though – after you die, your energy, that you’ve just been borrowing all along, goes back into the Earth. I think that concept is kind of cool. Overall, it’s definitely more fun to think of some kind of afterlife – some kind of eternal, peaceful existence, but I just doubt that exists, at least not the way it’s made out to be (heaven, hell, etc). It just makes no sense to me.
    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?
Who knows. I really just live my life day-to-day, trying to do things that make me happy. I try to be a good person, and I think that’s important. At the end of it though, you’re going to die anyway. I strongly believe that life is what you make it.
    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?
I definitely don’t think we’re alone in this universe, if that’s what you mean. There has to be other life forms out there, we’re simply not that special. I don’t like calling them aliens though – it sounds unfriendly.
    5.  How about ghosts?
Well, maybe. I haven’t really decided. The idea that there might be ghosts is kind of fascinating though. I like the way Marley put it though – that psychic connection that can develop between people. I believe in that too. I think we’re all a bit psychic, but most of us just don’t know how to tap into it.
    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?
Not really. Sometimes I’ll remember dreams, and then sometime later (years, even, in some cases) the event in that dream occurs. That’s not that weird though (and goes along with my whole belief in people being psychic).
    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?
I think we are all a combination of good and evil. We all have both within us, and we are conditioned on how to use those traits by society. Some people just don’t pick up on the social cues, and those are the ones who end up doing evil things without realising the immorality of their actions.
    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?
I have never met a truly terrifying person before, and I hope I never do. Apparently a family from my hometown adopted some demon child though. This kid has that ‘cold’ look in his eyes (like Shoes was talking about), and likes killing animals (like Jemmini was talking about) – he’s apparently pretty violent and shows no care for anyone or anything. I’ve never met him, but the fact that he lives just down the street from where I grew up is kind of unnerving.

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?
My loved ones dying and failure

    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?
I belive in heaven and hell but I don't think you go to hell unless you are truely evil.

    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?
I don't know. I think we're just supposed to live our lives the best that we can.

    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?
Not really. I haven't completely ruled it out, it could be possible.

    5.  How about ghosts?
Yes, but not like in movies. More like presence that you can just feel sometimes.

    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?
    Not really.

    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?
We talked a lot about this in my ethics class last semester. Evil is perception. Obviously as a society we have norms about what we see as evil and what we see as good, but I think everyone is capable of doing good and evil and there are a lot of factors that play into what they choose to do.

    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?I
I've never met anyone I would say is scary.

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?Drowning, sharks, someone I love dying

    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?I think we just die. i wish I believed in something more than that but I'm more a science/proof freak than religious/spiritual.

    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?I think everyone's purpose is different.

    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?Nope. Not until I see them.

    5.  How about ghosts?See above.

    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?Hmm I'm not sure if this is fitting but timing. I feel like things will happen at a certain place & at certain time just after I left, sparing me in away. It's scary but makes me feel extremely fortunate. But also that eventually my luck might run out.

    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?I think some people are born with evil inside of them, predisposed to do bad things, and unable to change.  I believe people can learn to be this way based on life experiences also.

    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?I
My mom's 2nd husband who died when I was 8.  He beat my mom & me, he was an alcoholic & a drug addict.  He overdosed causing a stroke & my mom was forced to decide whether to keep him living by machines or  turn them off & let him die. I was grateful she chose the latter as horrible as that sounds. I truly believe my mom would be dead if he hadn't overdosed that day.

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?
Being unloved. And not having my family around. Not a future family, but my parents, brother, and if I'm honest, BF. If they pass away, that is. Not if they move.
    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?
Depends. I believe in heaven and hell. But I don't necessarily believe everyone is relegated to those 2 places. I think with some people, nothing happens. You just die and that's it. Part of it is belief. If you believe in heaven and have been a decent person, yada, yada, yada, then heaven may be in store for you. But I don't think you get out so easy if you're evil, but don't believe in hell.
    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?
Leave someone, someplace, or something better than it was before you left. Whether that's through charity work, raising a family of hardworking productive people, being a big brother/big sister. It could be on a grand scale or a smaller, personal scale. Just making a positive mark on the world you left behind. A totally selfless mark.
    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?
Sure. Why not. To me it's not such a leap of faith. There's definitely just not enough information to know either way.
    5.  How about ghosts?
Yep. My mother's childhood home was haunted. True story.
    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?
Not really. I guess that should make me a non-believer, but I'm just open to the possibility of almost anything. I'm thinking along the supernatural lines here. There's plenty of tests/essays I passed and speeding tickets I should have gotten and magically didn't that I can't explain, but I don't think that's what you are talking about.
    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?
I agree with PP's that I think you can be born inherently evil or good. But I think, for the vast majority of people, societal/environmental/familial influences tip the scales. But for a select few, they will be evil or good no matter what surrounds them. Whether it's the most loving, caring, supportive environment, or Nazi Germany.
    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?
I'm not sure I've ever met a person who was inherently scary. I have been scared of people, but I think that has more to do with their position, then the person themselves. Cops (I hate getting pulled over), Judges, even when you are working for them, there's that element of intimidation at first. My mother, as much as I love her and as good as our relationship is (and it is good), can be a fierce Tiger Mom, so to speak.  In that case she's scarier because I know her! But I don't think I've ever met a person and thought to myself, "Now there is a truly terrifying person." I am thankful for that.

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?
Waves, something happening to my family or BF, going insane

    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?
I believe in some kind of afterlife. I think people who live good lives are at peace after they die, and I think that means a variety of different things for different people. I also believe that people who are truly evil will be punished after this life. I'm not sure how.

    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?
I don't really know if there is one. I know the meaning of my life is love and kindness. I think a life can be measured by how an individual impacted their fellow man, whether it was positive of negative. I do my best to have a positive effect on those around me, and to "do the right thing". Selflessness is important to me.

    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?
Yes. I think there is no way that we're the only intelligent beings out there. Do I think they are little green men. No.

    5.  How about ghosts?
Yes. I talked about this a little bit in a thread the other day, but I don't know about full bodied apparitions, but I think there is an energy that can be left behind after a person dies, or even while they are still alive.

    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?
I totalled my car this past December. I was on the interstate, and it was an early freak snow storm-the roads had not been treated at all, and two hours later the snow was totally gone. Anyway, the car in front of me lost control and did a 180 in the middle of the highway and hit my car head on. I remember starting to pray, and watching as my car headed straight for the guardrail at the top of a huge embankment. I don't know if I was turning the wheel, but I know I had no control over my car. I abruptly did a 90 degree turn and my car ended up facing the total opposite direction. When I got out of the car there were skid marks headed right for the embankment, and then all of a sudden they go the other way.

I drive that way once a week (on the way to or the way back from BF) and there is a statue of the Virgin Mary at one end of the trip, and three crosses on a hill at the other end of the tip along the highway. I've always (before and after the accident) said a little prayer at those points.

Also, my mom had some pretty serious complications when she was pregnant with one of my brothers, and there was a good chance he wouldn't make it, or would be seriously disabled. He was born totally normal-MD said she has no explanation for it. He's seriously one of the sweetest, and inherently "good" people I have ever known.

    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?
I think most people of born pretty neutral, and the things they go through in life make them either "good" or "evil". I think some people are born inherently "good". I also think that some people are born evil. When you look at true psychopaths and sociopaths, they begin displaying those characteristics VERY early in life, regardless of their upbringing. It's pretty scary.

    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?
When I was doing clinical rotations in nursing school, my psych rotation was at the state mental hospital. There were all kind of "scary" people there. We spent one day in the section for the criminally insane. We met a very charming, "normal" seeming man, who our professor later told us kidnapped and murdered several young children. That was pretty terrifying. He was definitely a true psychopath, and scarier by far then any of the obviously mentally ill people over in the other hospital.

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?
Being alone - not in the romantic sense, but in the sense that I have no one around that cares about me, failure
    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?
I believe in Heaven and Hell, the afterlife, all that jazz
    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?
To love, and to be loved. To make your way in this world, and to do your best to add something good to it
    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?
    Sure, why not
    5.  How about ghosts?
    Yes
    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?
ummmmm....probably, but nothing i can think of at this particular moment, of course
    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?
I believe people are born pretty neutral, with the ability to be "evil" or "good". Obviously society as a whole has put together the "norm" and what is considered good and evil. I think everyone has the opportunity to go either way, depending on outlying sources
    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?
I can't really answer this question. I'm not really afraid of anyone. I stood toe-to-toe with a 300 lb of solid muscle scary looking black guy, and told him to shut the fu*k up - ....sooo yeah lol. I'm kind of a bonehead like that. Although my mother is psycho...she can be terrifying when she wants to

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?
Spiders and heights. And losing my pets to something preventable.

    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?
Nothing. I think that once you're dead, you're dead and that's the end of it. I don't believe in souls or anything. But if I did, I guess I would believe in reincarnation of the theories I've heard.

    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?
I don't think there is one. I think life was a neat accident and that we're all just kinda here to do our thing before we die.

    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?
Yes, though not necessarily in the same way most people think of. I just think that considering how huge the universe is, it's just not statistically likely that Earth was the only planet to create life.

    5.  How about ghosts?
    Nope.

    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?
    Nope.

    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?
Well "evil" and "good" are things I think were made up. I think there is human nature, and then there is societal nature. Societal nature is what most people would consider "good" traits, and human nature is well...basically we'd be more like the animals we are (with some overlap between the two natures).

    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?
    Hmmm...FI's mom :P Because she's his mom and that's scary :P

But aside from that, my old boss. I love her to death but jeebus when she gets angry take cover!

    1.  What is/are your biggest fear(s)?
I'm very afraid of anything happening to my husband or either of our close family members or our future children. I'm also very afraid of getting Alzheimer's, or having some other type of condition that would cause me to lose who I am.
    2.  What do you believe happens to people after they die?  Why?
I would LIKE to think we have souls or energy and those who have led a good life can choose to reincarnate or rest, and those who have been evil are punished in some way. This is what I hope for, but I wouldn't say it's a belief.
    3.  What do you think the meaning of life is?
To do good. To treat others with kindness and compassion. To better ourselves.
    4.  Do you believe in Aliens?
Again, I would not say I believe that there are some out there, but I do believe it's a possibility.
    5.  How about ghosts?
I think there are plenty of forces we don't understand. I keep an open mind and tend to want to see compelling evidence for myself before I will truly believe in anything.
    6.  Have you ever had anything happen to you that you could not explain?  What was it?
I get weird "feelings" some times, premonitions, intuitions, that kind of thing. I think it's just my brain picking up on things that I don't register on a conscious level. I definitely try to listen to my instincts and my gut.
    7.  What do you think about the nature of people?  Is "evil" within people an apriori or aposteriori trait?
I think very few people are born evil OR good, but it does happen. Most people I think just try to do their best. Some people are stronger than others, some people are taught better coping mechanisms. I do think that the human brain is not fully understood, and genetics are not fully understood, so there are sometimes certain predispositions. But I also think we all need to be responsible for our own decisions and our own lives. That said, I tend to see things from a more Hobbesian perspective that the basic instinct of humans is self-interest.
    8.  Who is the scariest person you've ever met, and why?
I have a cousin who had those "cold" eyes some of you have mentioned. I haven't seen him in years, but he is in and out of jail these days for I don't know what all. I don't keep in touch with much of the family on that side.
There are also quite a few people who have mental issues that hang out at the library I work at that I don't trust. I wouldn't say they're terrifying, but I definitely try to keep in mind that I cannot predict how people who are not stable will act, and not get too comfortable just b/c they are familiar.
Other than that, I can only hope my good luck in not encountering anyone scarier than that continues to hold!
