Invites: parents are doctors, how to phrase?

My fiance's parents are both doctors. I'd like to include them in the phrasing of the wedding invitation.  How would I write their names and respective titles?  For example, "Dr. and Dr. John Smith?"

  • I think Mrs.Jesse is correct.
I don't see why it needs to go on the invites though. It's just showy-offy.

because it's their proper titles. just like you wouldn't write Miss to a married woman, you need to show respect to a person's proper title.
  • if you want to include them on the invite, there is no other way to list them other than using their proper titles.  it would be offensive and impolite to list them as Mr. and Mrs. John Smith if htey are both doctors.  not sure why using their proper titles would be considered "show offy".
  • Thanks everyone for the info.  It's really helpful!  :-)
