Ceremony outline

I've been working on my ceremony this week. If you have a minute will you check out what I have thus far in my bio? It's under Our Ceremony.

If you have anything you've seen that you really liked, please feel free to chime in!!

We're aiming for 30-40 minutes. It's outside, so hopefully it will be an enjoyable sit in August.

I just got a basic outline from Google searching "Protestent Wedding Ceremony Outline" and tweaked it a bit. But I am very open to hearing suggestions!!! Particuarly to the sitting/standing bit. I don't want it to be annoying.

First of all, I got goosebumps and actually just cried when I read your reading!  Love it!

As far as the ceremony itself - I've never been to a protestant ceremony so I'm not exactly sure how it is supposed to go, but it sounds like you've really got it under control.

That's so pretty kat! I don't think the standing/sitting is an issue. Will you two be kneeling and standing too? If so, your photog should be able to get some great photos while kneeling.

PS- the escort card has a last name on it. FYI.

Can't see weebly at work but as a Catholic girl, nothing beats the amount of sitting and standing in a Catholic mass! Sit, stand, kneel, stand, sit, kneel, etc. My cousin calls it church-ersize!

haah!!!!!!!! jeter!!!! you're too cute, i love that reading too.

hetshup - THANKS! ill have to fix that later

KD - it's definitely not the movin and groovin of a Catholic ceremony!! I just want to make sure I don't put the 2 times they need to stand too close to each other (which is hard in one short little ceremony!)

I'm emotional, what can I say. LOL

Oh, and not to hijack your thread, but I'm re-reading P&P for the 50th time before I go out and buy the Mr Darcy books!  I can't WAIT to start reading them!

    yay!!!!!

I just finished the 3rd (2nd really) installment!

The beginning of the first one is kinda racy in the beginning (haha, it's basically about their HM phase), but the plot really starts to unfold! Keep me posted!

Aww you're walking in to "Here's Comes the Sun?" That's so cool!  And the ringing your grandmother's bell is neat too.  Love it.

Aww, Katanne! I have the same reading bookmarked as a possibility (a STRONG possibility) for our ceremony. I love it.

I also love the use of a Beatles song! I'm walking down the aisle to "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole. I love mixing in non-traditional music. Especially stuff that is classic and familiar.

I think it's fine, I'm typically not a fan of being in a church environment but I closed my eyes and pretended to be at your ceremony and didn't get annoyed with the flow of it. Wink

I'm in the background of one of the really nice pictures at my friends catholic mass wedding rolling my eyes. Embarassed

    I like yours!

If you want to look through mine for ideas (we have two readings, and a blessing of the rings part that I LOVE because it includes a bit about the engagement ring) feel free.  It's in my bio under "Words of the Day."

I should add that the music hasn't been picked yet, but it'll all be traditional.  Our church doesn't allow secular music to be played.  Also, the ceremony itself (aside from our readings) is all VERY traditional and uses older language, etc.  FI is a history major and absolutely adored the "old feel" of the ceremony that our pastor sent us as the generic Methodist ceremony, so we kept it and just added our readings.

Hey! I finally got to read everything (it wouldn't work yesterday at work, blocked) and wow! It's beautiful!  I love the Beatles and the bell! That's such an amazing touch!
