Re: Help Me Avoid Schoolwork :)

  • Poke, I'm so sorry. J'is absolutely right. It should never have been your job, whether you offered or not.  Please don't blame yourself.
Jill, I'm going to get the mask and try it.-sorry for the late reply, FI decided he wanted soup from Olive Garden for dinner.

  • Thanks amorg : )

Angel - he's on a truck and depositing a check would be very difficult. I've actually dealt with a  lot of his financial stuff since he's been gone because he can't trust her to do it.

[QUOTE]I'm not sure I'd give my mom my debit card if she has a history of using other people's money for her spending sprees.  You might want to go with her to deposit that money.

<div>She knows I have nothing in my checking account. And she never steals when you know she's got your card. She also has only ever stolen from me once, and that was when I was in England. Sh'es got weird eithics. </div>

That makes sense. I'm glad you'll be able to call your H. Hopefully he can make you feel better.

  • Ugh, poke, that is terrible. I understand that your dad might be away a lot but if this is a problem, I feel like he should have found a secure place for his extra checkbooks that only you and he have access to outside the home. A locker or safety deposit box. Sounds extreme but sounds like she needs it. I'm so sorry that you are in the middle of this.

  • Oh Poke, I just read what's going on. I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with that, and I want to echo the others---you shouldn't feel at fault.

I kind of get why he had you hide them, but he should have known that it was still a risk. If he couldn't hide them successfully, then how should you, KWIM?
  • So I just needed to have a quick rant myself.

I got a call today from my PDM (that is a Pharmacy District Manager).  I work in a pharmacy where I hold two positions one is a pharmacy technician and the other is called a wellness ambassador which basically means I do alot of stuff for the community and promote wellness.  She calls me to say that her boss told her that every store that has wellness needs to have 40 hours in each store.  Each store is supposed to have two ambassadors but because they have not hired a partner for me I do everything on my own.  Also because I work as a tech in one store and travel to the other store for wellness I can not just skip on my pharmacy hours.

So I am stuck.  I need to have 40 hours but have no way of doing and my PDM even explained that I do not have a partner and have other work obligations to cover these extra 20 hours.  I am also not allowed overtime.  So my PDM's boss's solution is I need to call every ambassador in my district and see if they can cover the other 20 hours because if not I will be trouble.  It is just frustrating.  I am not a miracle worker and I may get in trouble for the very unrealistic demand.

Sorry that was longer than what I expected to write.

  • Why won't they hire someone to help? That seems odd to me.

  • Amorg, that would be really unfair for you to get in trouble with that. I hope they can find someone else to come in and cover those extra 20 hours this week (is that how often it is? or is it monthly?) and then after that, they need to hire someone to help you. I don't understand why they would hire you to do 2 jobs if it's not possible to do both jobs based on their rules regarding overtime.

<div>They are in the process of hiring someone.  It is a fairly new position so people are unsure about it.  Not to mention the description on our website is intimidating.  I was told today they interviewed someone and offered him the position but he has to have his background check/ drug screen and he is also working somewhere else and has to give them notice of him leaving.  Once all of these things are done he will be able to start working with me.  It just takes time.  </div>

</div><div>I was originally hired for the pharmacy tech position and I applied for the other position later on so I could become full time.  This decision that we had to use all 40 hours this coming week came out of nowhere and everyone is surprised they want us to use it knowing that it can not be done.  The thing about my second position is they have their own budget set aside just for this in each store.  So they have it budgeted for 40 hours and they just want to see us use the hours.  I am hoping even if I can not get them all covered I do not get in trouble.  And as I said they are in the process of hiring someone so sooner than later I hope I will have a partner.

  • Hey everyone. I just got home. I saw the other evening thread, and now it's gone so I'm playing in here.

Poke, I'm sorry you're upset. *hugs*

  • Confession, I just logged onto my Netflix account and said that I mailed off a DVD and they didn't receive it. I cannot find this DVD anywhere, and TBH, I may have actually mailed it off, but regardless, I'm not paying $20 for a movie I never watched.

    Oops.

  • Hugs accepted Sara - thanks!
