Blushers??

When I tried on veils, I really liked the look with the blusher. My mom and the consultant were talking about how my dad will be so teary lifting the blusher off my face. Then the other day I watched Father of the Bride, and I saw that it was the husband who lifted the blusher off her before the kiss.

What is the norm, who lifts the blusher and when? I have never been to a wedding where the bride had one.

Thanks!

  • It usually goes one of the two ways you mentioned. Either one is fine.

In southern Baptist weddings, the way I usually see it done is the following:
Dad walks daughter down the isle
Preacher: Who gives this woman to be married?
    Dad: "Her mother and I"
Dad lifts the blusher part and puts it over the back side of her veil.

I have seen it done where the husband lifts the veil right before the kiss, but that was not a religious ceremony and the bride didn't have her father to walk her down the isle to give her away.

Ultimately, it's whenever you and your father prefer.

  • I plan to wear mine through the ceremony and have my husband lift it before the kiss. When my dad gives me away, we'll just hug. I like the look of having it down, so I want to wear it like that as long as possible.
  • It's personal preference. Either is fine. I will have my dad do it since I don't want my face covered through the whole ceremony.
  • it can go either way. im deciding if i still want one or not.
