How much did you pay for your DJ and need rec's? Will be getting married within the boston area.

I started to call Dj's and couldn't believe the prices for a good DJ in the Boston area. I guess I didn't realize how much I should budget. Willing to pay alittle more for the right DJ. Any advice would appreciated. Budget no more than 1500
Thanks, E6ica

I went with Curtis Knight entertainment. The DJ I got is Greg and he was $1100. They have a website that you can do everything from and they were recommended by other knotties. I had a meeting with them and I loved the company and how professional they were.  Also I went to a wedding that "Get Down Tonight" did and that was great as well. The bride paid $1500 but that was the most expensive DJ. Good Luck.

    Hi
The DJ I am working is playing the piano for an hour of our reception and then djing for the remaining 4.  He is 1100.  I am getting married at the Nahant Country club and he comes HIGHLY recomeneded by Everyone there.  http://www.djtommysheehan.com/index.htm

Depends what you want. Ra-mu and the Crew were recommended to me. They bring TV screens, uplighting, a bunch of stuff. They quoted me packages for 5 hours starting at $1299, which isn't bad for what they do. You can look them up on You Tube.

I'm using a no frills DJ who's had like 17 years of experience and came highly recommended by a friend called Lou Greenwald. His business name is Cowman Productions. For 5 hours he's charging us $1000.

Our DJ is expensive (Nuimage) but it was the one thing fiance really wanted. I think Greg Capozzi from C-Zone is in that price range. He's who I would have used if I didn't agree to splurge!

We are using Mark Cherone from Curtis Knight.  Got a lot of good recommendations from girls on here.  He costs $1100.  Their website is super useful and everyone there is really great.

We're using Siman entertainment located in Brookline - they have varying levels of packages including ceremony music, cocktail music and dj for the reception. Based on what you want, you can make your package include more or less. They seemed very reasonable based on my research.

I'm using RaMu and the Crew.  You get so much I can't believe he charges so much less than other DJs.  $1299 for 5 hrs, no travel fee, complimentary uplighting, photo montage of the ceremony played during dinner.

I just checked out his website again and it looks like he's offering Photobooths!  Check out his reviews.  I CANNOT WAIT to see him work his magic at our wedding!!!

Check out DJ Ken Drew  http://www.djkendrew.com/

I think he cost us $800 (but that was a 2009 wedding show special) - that being said, I'd guess he'd still be under $1,000 now (and there's no time restriction on his price -  meaning, for us, it was $800 no matter how long he stayed/played at our reception).  Don't let the fact that he's an older gentleman throw you off - he's energetic, organized and I got a ton of compliments on the DJ choice for my wedding.

DJ Chris Baker was AWESOME. We paid 1100 for 5 hours and we danced all night long. Seriously the dance floor was spilling over
