  i think i viewed about 10 and called/e-mailed many more. for places that i was serious about, i made a chart with everything (i.e., price, how many people it holds, what's included, etc.) 

  
  

  i also found that once you narrow it down to two and let those two places know that you're deciding between them and another venue, they will begin negotiating more. ex: i knew i wanted to sign w/ my venue and they asked what i liked so much about the other place. i told them the lighting in the other place was awesome, so the coordinator offered to throw in uplighting to make my decision easier.

  I'm at near 20 and still not certain. Tied for #1 is Occasion at Stone River and Cappella Courts. I kind of like the one stop shopping deal, but its a lot of money. I'm not sure about signing a contract because of the money factor, I keep thinking I can do it for cheaper elsewhere!
  Important to me are outside ceremony, indoor reception, NO banquet style ballroom especially the chairs. Floor length linens and lighting..it doesn't seem like much to ask, but I guess it is......

  I looked at seven. Had more on my list but when I saw #7, knew it was the right choice. There was a look I was going for and it changed a bit after I saw different venues and realized what I really wanted.
