I'm so jealous that you were a professional belly dancer. i took a lesson once when i was younger (and skinnier!) and i was a complete failure. it was fun, though!!

Hahahaha, yeah I loved it more than anything.  But I think I loved teaching bellydance even more than getting hired out.  When I was 21 I had to decide between university and bellydance, and chose university.  My mom was horrified, thinking I was completely wasting my talent.  I said, "Mom, just 'cause you're hung like a horse, doesn't mean you have to do porn", eh?  :P  Luckily, my dad sided with me in my decision.

And while I miss bellydance, I know I made the right choice.  My "university" experience unfortunately sealed the deal that I'll never dance again, however.  I went on an exchange to Finland, got drunk and tore a ligament in my ankle straight from the bone.  It's almost healed now--five years later.

I really want to dance again some day.  I'd at least like to teach it again.  Just have to wait on this ankle.  :)  The beauty of bellydance is it truly is a dance for all women--all ages and all sizes.  I taught adorable 5 year olds, sexified teenagers obsessed with Britany Spears, feminist lesbians, and prudish arthritic 90 year olds.  I loved all my students.  Bellydance will always be there for me whenever I decide I'm ready to dance again.

Yeah, I'd love to do museum studies and conservation. I'm applying to grad school this fall and I'm hoping to get into a program that has a museum, internship, or some type of museum experience. I'm interested in the whole process - initial discovery through excavation, cleaning and studying the artifacts, museum and conservation.

Maybe we'll be working together some day!  :P

I may end up working in the states some day, because FI is American, and I think he'd eventually like to try to drag me south.
