  • Yayay! Going pretty good here. Fiance heard that he is one of four people being considered for an architecture job, so that is pretty exciting. Also re-booked my venue and DJ for our new wedding date. How about you Banana?

I want to wait for someone else to ask a question like last week. it's my chance to participate in a non Stina created poll...lol

If my opinion meant anything, I think the knot gods should make you a second mod since you always give awesome advice and always post our wonderful WPBPOTD.

  • It's been figure skating on TV every night for a week.  I love it.  I'll be very sad when it ends.

Holy crap, that's so sweet. But I know myself, and sometimes I forget to post the poll until late in the day because 1. I sleep in and have to dash or 2. I have an audition and then work and don't realize until in the late hours that I missed it.

Also, (not that I'm planning on GBCKing any time soon) I am not sure how much stamina I have.

But that totally brightened my day. I am at work and my super is a douche

  • Not much here.  I've been really busy at work the last two weeks, but nothing really interesting.

I hung out with my sister this weekend and she is starting to get excited about her wedding.  I'm really excited for her.  I pulled out my old venue spreadsheet (yes, we looked at tons) and sent it to her.  She's picked a tentative date for June 2011 and is planning to go talk to the church in the next week or two.
  • My Name Is Not, that is so fantastic that you were so organized.  I hope your sister is really appreciative.  :-)

The week has gone by fairly well so far!  DH and I saw both sets of parents over the weekend (I'm rather disappointed in MIL's way of saying "happy birthday" to DH).  But we had a freakin AWESOME dinner with my parents.

And Sunday we began the 'clean the office' process which is not fun but it gets us closer to moving!!

  • Something random- the housecleaner came over yesterday and she always brings her husband to help. Does not bother me, in fact I like it because it takes half the time. Only thing we have ever noticed is that he wears his pants pretty much at his knees.....so weird. But yesterday, I noticed he was limping...I am now curious as to why because I didn't notice a limp last time.

Also, on Thursday the closet people are coming and building me a brand new closet with double hang space and toms of shelving.....I am so excited! We've been living with all my shoes in piles for the past 2 weeks and I can't find anything.

  • I'm gonna AW the snow pics from work today. THis is the view from the 2nd floor walkway of my building, looking out over the nature preserve in our backyard. Keep in mind that this is Austin. We haven't had more than a 30 minute flurry since 2005.

  • Sarah, for a second I was thinking "oh, that's nothing" and then I remembered you live in Texas.  Yikes!  That's more snow than we have in Boston right now.

    <div>I am so jealous!</div><div>
</div><div>And boo snow.  After last weekend, I thought we were going to have an early spring.  Not so much.  </div>
  • I would love designed closet!  I'm also really jealous Stina.
  • Not much going on here.  I stayed home sick today, and mostly Knotted and Facebooked in bed between naps.  FI made a great breakfasty dinner, though.  I'm just getting caught up on a couple of things and then going to bed, because I'm hoping I'm well enough to go in tomorrow.

We actually had a really productive weekend on the wedding front.  We met with FI's uncle and got him to fill out his paperwork, which FI sent in this afternoon, so hopefully he gets approved by the county in time to perform the ceremony.  We also went in to order my custom wedding band since none of the ones I was interested in came in palladium, and the invitations are nearly ready to send out, have to finish those up tomorrow night.

Sarah, I'm soooo jealous of your snow.  Though I've always preferred snow as something I visit and play in than something I deal with for three or four months straight, so I think I'm best off in the Southwest.

  • I hate my job. So I've decided to quit. No, I don't have another job lined up. My DH has been nice enough to let me do my classes and audition as my job. I have been at my job for almost 3 years, the place that hired me is long gone and what's left is a bunch of tightwads that think that a college computer lab is all about professionalism.

And on top of that, I moved here to act, not to be in a computer lab.

  • I hope you feel better!

I'm having amaretto hot cocoa and hopefully I didn't just jinx my bedtime.
  • I will have to post pictures after they leave and the clothes are back in their new homes.....after the closets, we get to have a contractor come in and tear down one of our walls so we can have a linen closet....owning property is so much fun! lol

  • It's so great that you're in a position that you can quit your job and focus on pursuing your career.  I wish FI could do that, he's always so tired from work that he hasn't really made progress on the movie front, and I'm so busy between the wedding and work that the only thing I've written in months was a failed attempt at NaNoWriMo.  Good luck!

Banana, I've discovered that if I have anything other than water within 1-2 hours of bedtime, I'm screwed.  It sucks, but them's the breaks.

  • Stina, what if there's a freak accident and those blue shoes wind up oh say...in Eastern CT and not in your closet?  ;-)

To be honest, I'm a little nervous. It's so uncertain. I know that making money has never been an issue, thankfully. The amount of money I make in 10 hours DH makes in 6 minutes.....literally. He laughs about it saying that when he takes a crap, he has made my entire paycheck. If I fail, I know that no one will be disappointed. Everyone is behind me in a good way, but I would be disappointed in myself. He only asks that I keep myself busy. I can't bother him and I have to fill my time up. I think I may take some cooking classes as well because I am a bad wife and while I love my career, you can't spend your ENTIRE week on acting. You do have to take a break. I may also join a knitting circle.

  • Fine!

I guess I need to change the sheets anyway.   No last minute trips to NYC tonight.
  • Cooking classes would be fun!  I'd like to try my hand at some cake decorating classes.

Okay, it's bedtime for me.  Have fun, girls!

  • Bit of a "poll" question for everyone: What wedding tradition are you glad that you aren't doing/didn't do?

I'm glad that we didn't abide by the "bride and groom can't see each other before the wedding" superstition.  Not only was it good for practical reasons (get all the photos out of the way before the ceremony when everyone was newly done up) but it was also nice to have that time together and with the WP before we were inundated with all our friends and family and hardly got more than 5 minutes together the rest of the night.

    What about you?
