Wedding party gifts

Hi ladies,
I would like to start buying gifts for the wedding party but I'm not sure what the average price I should be spending.  My thoughts for the BM's is Jewelry, flip-flops, a shirt that says Bridesmaid.  I have no idea what else to get them.  Is that to much? to little? I need help.

Re: Wedding party gifts

  • i'd suggest either getting something more personal/something different for each girl. or, if you want to get the same thing for everyone, try to get them something that they will use often/not related to your wedding. a shirt that says bridesmaid is fitting for pre-wedding activities, but when will they wear it afterwards?

as for how much to spend, that's totally up to you. if you still want to get them something wedding related, you can do that, but then maybe also get them something else not wedding related.

i'm getting my girls all the same thing (jewelry travel rolls) and having them monogrammed. i think I will also get them a piece of jewelry that i think they will like, and put it inside the rolls. this will not be jewelry they will wear at the wedding, just everyday jewelry.
    Happily married since 9/1/2012!

  • As PP said, how much you spend is up to you and what your budget dictates. I am doing a bunch of little stuff for my bridesmaids, all in a tote. I steered clear of putting anything wedding related on stuff like the tote as I want them to use it again, so I did totes, mugs, pens with their names on them and a design in each of their favourite colours. I am providing each with a button up shirt to get ready the day of, but picked them up UBER cheap on sale because that way we just don't care lol those I will decorate with bridesmaid or something for pictures, but don't expect them to use again. I also found a cute necklace earring set for each of the girls in her fav colours (not for the wedding obviously, or else I'd have some interesting accessorising in my black/red wedding with blue, green, etc lol).
  • things about YOUR wedding are no gift for an attendant. I would NEVER wear a shirt that says "bridesmaid" or "maid of honor", nor do I display any engraved frames/glasses etc that have someone elses wedding date on it.

Shop for them as if you would for christmas or their birthday.
