Flowers

Please know that I understand costs depend on MANY things, but....
About what did you spend/are you going to spend on flowers for your wedding?  I know this depends on region, flower type/availability, and how much floral you're using BUT I'm truly just curious about wha tto expect.  I never buy flowers, and I truly don't even know how much I can expect to pay.  I don't want any roses - I'm thinking more tulips, daisies - flowers of that sort.  Just let me know! TIA for an answer to such a broad, general question!

The florist I'm considering says that a typical wedding at the venue I plan to use normally has $1000-$1500 worth of florals. The most she's ever charged for a wedding at the venue is $2000. I'n not big on flowers, so I'm shooting for about $750 tops.

We are paying $3750 . Which includes all the centerpieces which are going to be different cobalt blue containers with hydrangeas, cymbidium orchids and some other purpley flower and blue votive candles. The tables are rectangular so they will be going all the way down the table.

My bouqet (purple orchids with stem exposed),6 bouqets (mainly hydrangeas with accents) and boutanaires (?) (some other orchid), flower ball for flower girl, large funky arrangement with our photos in vase on the escort card table, floating flowers for cocktail hour. They are also doing our ceremony which includes bows down the aisle and swathed fabric on the trellace/alter.

Oh and of course the mothers corsages and fathers boutanaires.

I live in the NY Metro area so things are wayy more expensive, plus I found out that I really like flowers( too bad I can't remember the names) so I allowed more room in our decor budget.

We are going to see our samples on Thursday so I will post some pics afterward. I am soooo excited to see it all !! I know hydrangeas are in season, so that helps since we plan to use a lot. You picked a lot of spring flowers which is a smart way to save!

We ending up saving a lot by not having attendants so there are no extra bouquets etc and we are also doing a very small wedding.  We are only having 7 centerpieces and we went with short rather tall and huge.  We also are not doing poms on the chairs but a cheaper alternative that fits in with our theme.  That said we spent $1200.  I think the general range in our area is probably more like $2500-$3000.

We were quoted $950 for our flowers.  The flowers we're using are silk orchid centerpieces immersed in water (rented), bouquets for me and BMs that include freesia, roses and hydrangeas.  Bouts for GM and corsages for moms.  We'll also use a few fresh flowers on our wedding cake, but that's it!  We're going pretty light on flowers.

So far we are paying about $2,200.00 but this is for all of our centerpieces, bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, escort card table, guest book table and cake table - this also includes 4 candles at each table as well.  The price may go if we we need more than the 15 tables though.

I kind of lucked out. My planner is a event designer too, so she's giving me stuff at a HUGE discount. I think I'm paying aroung $300 total for all my bouquets, bouts, and corsages and centerpeices. Please keep in mind that I only expect about 80 guests and I am renting my centerpeices.

I paid $1500 alone for the flowers and then I wanted certain vase which I requested to purchase on my own.  The vase started out $49 in Michael's and finally went to $9.99 and by me starting early I went town to town from NC to VA to get them.

I initally set my budget @ $3500 for floral. We came in @ 3250, that includes my bouquet which is phalenopsis orchids, 9 BM/MOH bouquets of calla lillies, FI/GM bouts, moms corsages, father bouts, sing in table arrangement, 12 cps and cake flowers.. In my area the floral can range from from about 3k-10k on average.

Thank you ladies, I always know you will give me great help!  Obviously, prices are so different everywhere, but my flowers will be from somewhere in KC, MO - a metro area, so competition is high, but prices are high too.  I specifically chose spring for our wedding because I wanted tulips to be plentiful - outside naturally and in my floral arrangements.  I'm not a huge flower person - but, spring wedding says colorful flowers to me!
smooth- Yes, PLEASE post pictures if you can once you have some! I'm VERY curious to see your escort card arrangement - sounds really unique and fun!
