• Pink!  Stay away from everyone and wash all your sheets.  We had a case of that come through hair school through the esthetics floor.  Eeeep!
In Response to Re: Know what sucks? : My kitten and I recently went through this. It was embarassing because "ringworm" just sounds so nasty. I had some rx cream and it worked a lot better than the otc stuff. Hope you can get it cleared up soon!

I know!  I thought it was dry skin, I wash my hands a lot.  I went to the DR on lunch because I cannot stop itching and he said it was ringworm.  I was racking my brain trying to think of how I could have gotten it and then it clicked.

• When you're told that the only requirement for presenting at a conference is to submit a 100-word abstract, so you do, and then get an email back saying that since it's your first time, you have to also submit your entire 4000 word paper.  That you haven't written yet because the conference isn't until May.  And the deadline for submissions is Dec. 31.  Ugh.

• Pink, you are lucky that your pets don't have it (and hopefully you won't transfer it to them, they should be fine though unless they have depressed immune systems for some reason.) I had to take my cat to the vet once a week for six weeks to be dipped in a sulfur/lyme solution. So not only did she have ringworm, she also smelled like rotten eggs. If you are healthy it should clear up relatively easily. It is good to wash your sheets and towels as much as possible, but honestly I didn't do it more than normal. I have a really crappy combination washer dryer so I couldn't do it everyday without driving myself crazy. Even so, I never got more than one tiny spot on my leg and FI never got anything at all.
• I know that we had to sterilize the esthetics floor and all common areas.  We had to cancel clients (on the esthetics floor).  Every towel clean or dirty had to be rewashed.  It was a pain.  Luckily I was a hair student so it didn't effect me that much.   But, I remember it was a production.  We could have been extra cautious, but yeah.  Sorry to hear that Pinky.

I was just furiously Googling to find out if my dogs could catch it from me.  I can already forsee a viscous ringworm cycle that will never, ever end at my house.  Did your cat have a red spot visible through her fur?  My small dogs have short coats and I can pretty much see their skin (didn't notice anything yesterday, I'll look better tonight)  My German Shepherd has so much black fur, how will I ever know if she has it?

• When H told me how much him and all the guys in his shop love the chocolate chip cookies I send which makes me feel like I need to bake more for this package.  But it probably won't happen.

It sucks that i want to walk my dog to get myself some exercise but he is an extremely slow walker because he has to stop and sniff and pee on everything, and I don't feel like its exercise.

• dnb, one of my dogs does that and it's so annoying.  He always holds everyone up because he must lift his leg on every single mailbox.  After the first 3 mail boxes, nothing even comes out but he still must do the action.

• Pink, her hair actually fell out in three places and her skin was a little red and scaly. The vet thinks she got it from the shelter and that they only reason it ever even showed up was because she was immuno-suppressed from her spay surgery. I think if you keep the spot on your hand covered and your dogs are healthy they should be fine.

Also I would like to make a disclaimer for anyone I might meet at the DC get together this weekend: I am not a gross, dirty person covered with fungal parasites, I promise! I am all better now!

Aww your poor kitty!  I think my dogs are fine because they don't have any missing patches of fur (yet).

Yes everyone, Anna is ok because I am now the host for the fungal parasites.

NO kidding. OK, we're not -15, but in single digits. I only want to be outside twice - to get in my car, and get out of it.
Well, shut my mouth. We actually hit 14.

I do when she's not here, but most times I figure they know her and have specific questions for her. It irks me when I realize that it was someone inquiring about a lease.

Say "Can I ask what this is regarding?" before you transfer them.  That way you can probably tell if it is a new inquiry and help them yourself!
Ringworm.  Yep.  It is itchy, gross, bright red and on my hand, visible to everyone.  I am pretty sure I got it because I handle so many stray/neglected dogs on the weekends.  Hopefully this prescription cream from the DR will work!  I'm so itchy.
Posted by pinkpinot
I have it on my underwear line. *blush* I probably had it on my hand from FI's dog then had an itch. It's so hard to get rid of there, too, because clothing is always rubbing up against it and by time I start to get it under control I hit my period and it's almost impossible to keep the area completely dry then... *sigh*
Yeah. Ringworm sucks.
