Maid Of Honors

How did you choose your maid of honor ? I have two friends...both really arent reliable ....the one just had a baby a few days ago,so I know she is gonna have her hands full plus she'll be tight with money (her bf is in the wedding also) and then I have another friend...she also is not really reliable and doesnt know anything really about weddings. They are both my good friends and i'd hate to make one mad by choosing. Some people are telling me to make both of them the MOH...but that's cheesy to me. I don't know what Im going to do ! ! !

I have one sister so it was easy for me.

My one friend was going to chose between her two sisters and couldn't so she asked her best friend.

I have also been to a wedding were there were two matrons and one maid of honor... so that the bride hurt no one

I had two maids of honor - my two best friends in high school. It wasn't cheesy and it made total sense.  The three of us have been inseparable since we were 14. It worked out just dandy.

Do whatever makes you the happiest. You can have them both, someone else, or no one at all as your MOH.

In terms of reliability and wedding knowledge - my MOH is my little sister, who up until now didn't know anything about weddings. The other girls in the bridal party have been helping her along. As long as the person you choose as your MOH is open to advice and suggestions, I don't think you should be worried.

I had two MOH for my first wedding- my little sister (who was 14?) and my good friend at the time. I know it sounds cheesy.

This time around, I really didn't want to choose, but two of the girls were pregnant and money was a bit tight and I didn't want to inconvenience them, my sister asked not to be, and my MOH that I chose is awesome. She's organized, creative, funny, clearly going to make me laugh or snap out of whatever wedding planning/arguing/cold feet funk I might ever step into.

As far as I'm concerned, they're all maids of honor- I wouldn't have asked them if they didn't mean something to me. KWIM?

I dont' think it's key to know a lot about weddings, but choose someone you can rely on.  Best decision I made was picking my MOH because she kept my other BMs in line so I didn't have to worry about it.

I have 2 best friends, and one of them was going to be my maid of honor.  Originally, i was going to choose my best friend from high school, because my best friend from college was living in another country and wouldn't be much help.  Then she moved back to the states, and she missed out on being MOH for her sister.  And we decided to have my best friend from high school's daughter as our FG.

I went with my best friend from college for two big reasons.  1. best friend from high school is going to be dealing with her 7 yr old that day, so she's going to have her hands full.  and 2. My best friend from college calms me down.  BF from HS says "oh stop it you're being irrational."  BF from College does the same thing, but in a way that calms me down, not gets me riled up first.

You have plenty of time to decide, so don't rush! Something could happen a few weeks or months from now that could help sway your decision.  Don't feel like you can't have 2 MOH's either!  Good luck!
