Vow Inspiration

Well, this is a pretty generic post because this IS the Vows board, but I was just wondering, for those of you who are writing your own vows, what have you been using as inspiration? Poetry, a special song, something religious? I'm just starting to think about writing mine and my mind is going in so many directions.

What did you to just stop and get centered and focus on what you want to say to the love of your life on your beautiful day?!

    we are writing our own vows too:) so far I have search wedding vows in google and I read some exampls...i listen to the words of some on my fav love songs, and i want to take religeous perspec too so i am talking to my pastor about marriage. Im not getting married to next year but i want to stay ahead of the game...lol

    We wrote our own vows...kind of. I'm a methodist, he's non-secular, my mom's a lutheran, my dad's a catholic, his dad's a jew, and his mom's a catholic.

    ....that being said, we took what we liked from all sorts of traditional vows and combobulated them into something we loved.

    Hello!  Congratulations on your up-coming wedding.  I spend a lot of time with my bridal couples since I hand write ever single ceremony to specifically represent the feelings of each couple.  No two ceremonies are alike.  There are several good sources available that I'd be happy to help you with if you're interested. One of the first things I do however,  is ask my bridal couples several questions like - when you think of your bride/groom what are some of the words you'd use to describe your relationship? Also, your vows should be words that you'll want to live by forever.  These are the most important promises you'll ever make!  We talk about what's important to them and how they want to "set the theme so to speak" as to how they want to be together.  The words should reflect your "rules" to live by.  I'm frequently contacted by bridal couples, not living in San antonio, Texas, that have asked me to help them write their vows or give them ideas.  Please feel free to contact me.  I'd be happy to help you, via telephone, to get started or even help you write them.
