Columbia Reception Ideas

I have been trying to think of reception venues for my wedding in Columbia and can't come up with anything very exciting. I really like the ballroom on Stephens campus, but I would prefer a venue with a full bar option. Any ideas??

What about the Blue Note? If you are looking for something a little more out there, it seems like a really amazing place to have a reception. Or the Alumni Center at Mizzou would be pretty amazing! http://www.uclub-mu.org/weddings/photo.asp

We are holding our Columbia reception at the Courtyard Marriott. It's a nice location especially if you have a lot of out of town guest like we do.

I had a wedding in Columbia in 2005. Check around with all the different hotels, there is a wide range of prices and styles offered throughout town. Also, talk to the University of Missouri along with the Alumni Center, there are a few other sites on campus that I have seen hold wedding receptions.

You can have receptions in Memorial Union on the Mizzou campus as well. They have lots of different sized rooms.

Columbia Country Club (the orignial club - Stephens Park/Stephens Stables area) was where we had son and daughter-in-laws. The ballroom is set up to lend itself to almost any decor. It has a lovely balcony surrounding the ballroom and the views of the golf course are nice year round. It's a convenient location yet gives you a feeling of privacy that's not available in hotels and MU venues.
