Where does the BP get ready?

Are all the BM's supposed to go to the bride's parents' house? What if it's too small? Do they just get ready at home then meet at the parents' house for pictures? Then the limo takes us all to the church? I've run through so many scenarios I can't figure it out. Opinions please?!

I think its different for everyone, based on their own personal logistics. Some people get ready at the church or venue, or a hotel if there are lots of OOT people. We are getting ready at the venue as far as I know.

Depends on where you have the room. For my wedding, we got ready at the church.

For a friend's wedding, most got ready at her parent's house while some met them at the church for pictures.

For my SIL's wedding, most are getting ready at a salon and then going to the church.

What are you doing for hair and makeup? What are the BMs doing for hair and makeup?

I would talk to them and see what they think.

I'm getting dressed at my parents' house, which is rather small, but I only have two BMs. One is my sister who still lives there, and the other is my friend who lives across town. They both said they want my makeup lady to do their makeup (and we'll all go to a local salon beforehand to have our hair fixed), so I am guessing they'll put on their dresses at my parents' house.

If I had more BMs, I'd probably book a hotel room.

It depends on your situation and where you will have the most room. They could dress on their own and arrive at your parent's house for photos if it would be too chaotic to have people dress there. You could all dress at the venue together, too.

I'll be getting ready in FI's and my house the morning of (he will be in a hotel the night before the wedding so I'll have the place to myself) and my BMs will be coming there to get ready. I have hired a pro hair & makeup team to come to my home and do that there so we're not going out to a salon. Thankfully I have the room for people to get dressed, have some breakfast while waiting their turn with hair & makeup, etc.

I think it's a matter of what's going to be the most convenient. For my sister's wedding, we all went to the salon for hair, then got dressed and did makeup at the bridal suite at the church. For my friend's wedding, we did hair and makeup at her house, then got dressed at the church.

I'm having a stylist come to our hotel suite so we can all get ready there.

Like everyone said, it depends on the situation.

My plan is to have hair and makeup come to my parents house and get it done there. I have 5 bridesmaids, and I want to enjoy getting ready with them and in a more relaxed setting then a salon (my personal preference).

It depends. All the BMs got ready at my house, and we brought in a hair person. The guys got ready at the hotel.

We are checking into the hotel early and we will all get ready there. Unless the BMs want to get ready at home. It is really up to them. My mom and I are having our hair done in the morning before we check in.

I don't think there's any rule as to where the bridal party HAS to get ready. If you want them to get ready with you, you can ask them. I had mine get ready at the house and we had champange for the waiting room. If you don't have the room, you may want to either do it somewhere else, or just have everyone get ready somewhere else and show up to help you get ready (for pictures...no one really needs 4 people helping them get ready)

Depends. I've gotten ready at the church, at home, and at the reception site for photos before the ceremony. I would plan yours based on whatever makes for the easiest logistics. You will not want to have to coordinate too many people in too many places. Let that be your guide.

Thank you all so much for your input! It's been helpful. As of now, I'm thinking this would be the best play by play for the morning preparation: after getting our hair and makeup done at the salon, all the girls can go to their houses to get dressed, then meet at my parents house for pictures there (I really want to take pics there for sentimental reasons) and have the limo pick us all up and bring us to the church.
