What is your idea of a vacation? Beach time.

What has been your favorite vacations? Honeymoon to Hawaii, scuba diving, snorkelling and beaching.

Vacation you most want to take? Fiji

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? Probably not to a beach, maybe to visit family.

What is your idea of a vacation? Travel anywhere away from my home and work where I can turn my cell phone off and not check e-mail.

What has been your favorite vacations? Kayak camping on the NC coast. Our honeymoon in Hawaii. Backpacking around Europe.

Vacation you most want to take? I'm due for a really long road trip.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? Yes, but I wouldn't vacation alone.

What is your idea of a vacation?

Exploring somewhere new. I like to really see experience an area rather than just getting a quick touristy view.

In relation to the morning thread, when we go camping I enjoy it but I don't consider it a vacation.

What has been your favorite vacations?

Probably the study abroad i did in Switzerland and the trip to Venice while I was there.

Vacation you most want to take?

It's hard to narrow it down but probably Australia and New Zealand. I'd want to be gone a full month at least though so that won't happen anytime soon.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO?
If he couldn't go for some reason then yes. I'd also be willing to leave him home if it were a "girls trip" or a mother/daughter thing. I don't think I would leave him out if the reason was purely financial though.

I don't have many vacation photos on my work computer but here is one from my Ireland trip in 1999. It was a lot of fun but I was with my sister and we're very different people. I'd love to go back some day.

What is your idea of a vacation?
Time away from home when I don't have to work. I travel with the family I nanny for on their vacations and while its fun, I don't really consider them vacations for me since I am still working while I'm there.

I prefer beach vacations but fiance and I have also gone on vacations to cabins in the woods to hike and those were fun too.

What has been your favorite vacations?
My family goes to the ocean every summer! We always have so much fun and I love the tradition asspect of it.

Vacation you most want to take?
I'm SO excited for our honeymoon in three weeks. We are going to an adults only all inclusive resort in Cancun! I love traveling and want to go pretty much everywhere though. On the top of my list: Australia, Hawaii, and Alaska.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO?
Yes. I would go with girl friends for sure! I wouldn't be comfortable vacationing all by myself though.

What is your idea of a vacation? Beautiful beach, turquoise water, drinks and relaxation. I hate the idea of coming home from a vacation and being more tired than when you started.

What has been your favorite vacations? Aruba and Turks & Caicos.

Vacation you most want to take? Either- an overwater bungalow in Bora Bora, or I want to rent a really nice house on the beach in T&C again.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? Yep I have and will continue to every once in a while. My priority is to take trips with him now, though.

My idea of a vacation: Sleeping in, having time to read and relax, and trying something new/ going someplace new.

My favorite vacations: A couple of years ago, FI and I backpacked around Ireland, Scotland, and England. He continued on through the rest of Europe, which I wish I could have done. It didn't leave much time for sleeping and relaxing, but it make up for it in the trying and going to new things aspect.

When I was younger, my family and I used to vacation in this cruddy cabins in the Wisconsin northwoods, which actually was a lot of fun.

Vacation I most want to take: I would love to fly into Portugal, then travel around the coast for a month or so, making my way through Spain, cost of France, then skip over to Greece and leave from Turkey. In a dream world, I'd like to do this in nice hotels and good restaurants, but in reality, we'll have to backpack it again. Yay for hostels and sandwiches!

Bora Bora would also be amazing.

ETA: I'm pretty pumped about my HM in Costa Rica in a couple of weeks!

Vacation without FI? Yup. About once a year, my college friends and I try to get together since we are spread across 5 different states now. It's always so much fun!

What is your idea of a vacation? No one being around to bother me ha. I love going to be beach and growing up here, vacation=beach.

What has been your favorite vacations? Favorite vacation was H and I's honeymoon to the Caribbean.

Vacation you most want to take? We're going to San Francisco next summer so I'm pretty excited about that. I'm mostly excited to go see Alcatraz.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? I guess I could, but I honestly wouldn't want to. Mainly because if we're going to shell out the money for something like a big vacation I'd want him to enjoy it as well.

What is your idea of a vacation? Relaxation. I love the beach, but sometimes just getting out of town for a day or two is nice too.

What has been your favorite vacations? I used to go to Myrtle Beach all of the time when I was a kid and so I love going there. I haven't been on a vacation to somewhere fun in years. I can't wait to go on my HM.

Vacation you most want to take? I want to go on my HM. We're going to Cancun to an AI.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? I would. I have gone on a couple of weekend trips since we met with just girls.

What is your idea of a vacation? Anytime I'm away from work. With DH a vacation usually involves camping, bicycle riding, hiking, backpacking. However, I can lounge by the pool with the best of them.

What has been your favorite vacations? 12 days diving in Belize certainly ranks highly on my list. Another favorite was backpacking the San Juan mountains and having a goat sleep outside our tent for 3 nights. And the week in San Diego with DH (our first trip together).

Vacation you most want to take? I want to see the Canadian Rockies.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? Yep, for a short trip. I wouldn't do anything major like a cruise without him, though.

What is your idea of a vacation?

* Any trip where I suspend my normal activities (laundry, cleaning, school) for fun ones (hiking, lounging, sightseeing)

What has been your favorite vacation?
*The Black Hills. It's everything I like rolled into one. We're going again in August and the plans include climbing the needles for me, hiking Terry Peak, riding the 1880's Train, visiting the Mammoth dig site, going in Wind cava, and unwinding at night in my private Jacuzzi

Vacation you most want to take?

*I'd really like to take a European tour of notable WW2 sites and stay at bed and breakfasts while travelling.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO?

*I prefer not to. I did marry him because I like to do stuff with him

But I've done 4 day weekend trips solo and even went on a Bahamas cruise without him.

What is your idea of a vacation? Anywhere I can be near the ocean and swimming in it. Also getting a wickedass tan, thank you

What has been your favorite vacations? All my trips to California, my family trip to Maui when I was a senior in high school. Key West was fun too.

Vacation you most want to take? I'd love to go to the Caribbean or to Fiji or Bora Bora. Or to Hawaii with Ben.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? I have before. I did last summer, it was a mom and sisters type thing. I missed him but it was a flippin good time.

I also like BK's for obvious reasons.

What is your idea of a vacation? I want an adventure, but I really need some downtime as well. H know's by day 3, if I dont rest we are usually cranky.
What has been your favorite vacations? Kauai by far, but Ireland is not far behind.
And now I really want to go back to London.

Vacation you most want to take? I do want to get to Spain, H always talks about going back. But Germany and Brussels are on the top of my list.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? Probably not, he is my travel companion, and we work well together when we travel. Unless I dont get rest, see above.

What is your idea of a vacation?
Not having to go to work for at least 5 days in a row (I work retail, so I have odd hours sometimes). I prefer to actually go somewhere, though.

What has been your favorite vacations?

Maine and Boston one year over 4th of July with the in-laws, NYC and Pennsylvania with H and the in-laws (we got engaged in NYC), and our "honeymoon" in March when we went to Florida.

Vacation you most want to take?

Ireland is at the top of the list, but I'd also like to go to Italy, the Keys, anywhere tropical. And I ALWAYS want to go to Colorado.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO?

Eh, maybe if I had someone I really wanted to go with. Most of my family can't afford trips, though, and my friends are pretty spread out throughout the country. H had gone on trips (like to see his parents or a friend's wedding when I couldn't get time off) without me before, but not vacation.

If I'm not at work, if I'm not at home worrying about chores, errands and responsibilities, it's a vacation to me.

What has been your favorite vacations?
Trip to St. Kitts with my BF, honeymoon in Hawaii and a trip to NC earlier this year to meet a bunch of Knotties and meet my goddaughter for the first time.

Vacation you most want to take?
New York City or Bora Bora.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO?
I have and will again later this year (Nashville).

What is your idea of a vacation? No phone/ email. Even if Im at home.

What has been your favorite vacations? Oh man, Paris with my family. Probably our HM with Matt. We went to Pebble Beach, San Francisco and Napa. I'll see if I can find pictures.

Vacation you most want to take? A wine & champagne tour in Europe. OR a tropical vacation to the most remote beach in the world. It changes.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? If it was just family, or a girls trip to Vegas or something, yes. Otherwise, I prefer to be with him.

What is your idea of a vacation? Anything that gets me away from the real world for awhile, preferably with a beautiful view and cocktail in hand

What has been your favorite vacations? By far my favorite was our HM to Hawaii. It was a dream trip and just perfect.

Vacation you most want to take? I have a lot! I'd like to go back to Hawaii, visit Italy/Europe, and visit French Polynesia. Also excited for our trip this July to San Fran, Napa, Carmel and Big Sur.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? Yes, I think a girls' trip would be fun

What is your idea of a vacation? Getting out of the city and staying somewhere that isn't our apartment.

What has been your favorite vacations? Maine in the summer with my family. Nana is a Mainer so there's still family up there. I grew up staying in this outdated cabin my great-aunt owns, right on the lake. I look forward to bringing my FI there for the first time this summer.

Vacation you most want to take? Italy. That's our dream HM if we can get the funds together by then. We also want to go back to Ireland. FI wants to go back to Israel and I would love to do that.

Would you vacation without H/FI/SO? Yeah, but not for a long trip. I'd do a weekend away if it was a girls trip. However, if he wasn't able to go on a regular trip with friends, I wouldn't want to be the one without my SO along.

Best moment: A tie between Aruba- we went on a snorkeling day trip on a catamaran. They took us aways out to the ocean and were blasting great music. It was AWESOME. I am not much for snorkeling but the catamaran was just great.

and Chicago- We went to the signature room for a nice supper. Between the amazing views and amazing meal, it is a great memory.

Worst: In T&C we decided to rent a car for the day to visit chalk sound national park and have lunch at a place overlooking it. Well, a combination of : me driving on left hand side of roads for first time + torrential downpour+roads being washed out+electricity out at restaurant +me falling in rain and screwing up my toe= suck.
