I'm really interested in getting married at the MGM Grand. I'm pretty sure that's going to be the place. I need ideas for dinner after my ceremony for about 20-30 people. I saw that the MGM has many great dining places. Would it be too cheesy for everyone after my wedding to go eat at the buffet there? I'm just thinking that it would be appropriate for everyones budget.
Re: MGM Grand Wedding & Dinner
We had our ceremony at the MGM 2 weeks ago and had dinner at the buffet. It worked out very well for our group and they were very easy to work with. If you are paying for the meal for everyone my suggestion would be to sign up for their "Prima" card. (you have to put a $500 deposit on file when you check into your room but then you can "charge" the dinner to your room and get discounts) Our buffet which should have averaged about $34 per person (including set up fee, meal, and gratuity) came out to about $20 per person somehow with having it charged to the room with the Prima card. Not quite sure how it all worked out but when we questioned it they said it was all correct.
I am not sure of the dining options for MGM but I do know a few ladies have done in-suite receptions and had catered food brought in. I'm not sure how familiar you are with Vegas but the good news is that MGM is one of the stops on the Monorail so if there isn't something of interest to you in the MGM you should check the other hotels along the tram route.
Best of luck!
