Wedding Party

Yahoo news agrees with us!

For all the beebees seem to think "It's my day!", apparently your guests will be annoyed if you're rude to them. Who knew?

  • I hate when brides and grooms do that.  DH tried to do that to me and I was not too pleased.

  • Those commentors are making me angry the further I go. I have an entire rant from reading those comments, but I will spare you guys.

  • Another Gem:

When my husband and I got married we had the reception in my parents backyard, grilled hot dogs and had Moms, Grandmothers and anyone else who wanted to bring a dish. My parents got a 1/2 keg of beer, we got different 2-liters of soda and put on the invites B.Y.O.B. if they wanted to drink, they could bring what they wanted. Everyone had a good time and since we lived on the water if they wanted to they could bring their suits and swim, which some of the kids did!

  • I like that the cake smash thing is on there.  I've seen people comment elsewhere on this site that it usually looks like the couple are working out aggressions from wedding planning when they get a bit overly enthusiastic.

And the "big journey, small bites" thing was the biggest reason we had to totally overhaul our wedding plans.  Our reception is still cocktail style, but the caterer is reputed to provide a metric crap-ton of food, and we're providing two other meals as well.  So no one is going back to their hotel hungry.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Uuuugh. Pretty sure this was my friend's sister's wedding. She keeps reminding me that my "wedding will never be better than hers" and I keep reminding myself, "I'm not having a cash bar and I am not having a visible keg." Yes, that's right! They charged for keg beer. Everyone but the B&G had to pay.

  • Exactly!  Your wedding should be something they enjoy, not something they have to put up with.

A little frosting on the chin, never hurt anyone.

...even though it's such a waste of cake. Did y'all read that? THAT'S way the over extensive cake smoosh is tacky, it's a real waste of cake.
  • Stage, I like that second picture, I think it's hilarious!  Dh and I did cake smashing.  It wasn't that crazy, but it is who we are.

The biggest problem I have is a lot of people are pulling out "we are on a tight budget!"  A tight budget does not give you an excuse to throw etiquette out the window.

A tight budget doesn't allow you to treat everyone like crap either.
