  WTH does she want to talk about in person? She gave it to you. You can do whatever you want with it.  I think she just wants to come over and see what else you guys are getting rid of.

  That's what I'm afraid of mscali. And I'm getting rid of almost every gift from them over the past few years. I mean, not JUST stuff from them, but I'm sure that's how they'll see it.
  Plus, gifts from them usually come with a passive agressive jab...like the time MIL bought me a big wooden salad bowl (so big it doesn't fit in my cupboards) because "last time we were here you served us salad in a mixing bowl, so I thought you could use one."
  psh! My mixing bowls are gorgeous! I use them every chance I get.

  Your MIL sounds like a slightly less evil version of my MIL.  Don't let her come over if you can avoid it.

  i don't feel like i hear anough evil il stories.  they sound awesome.
