~~jenn.daniel~~ Re: Kiawah

Where do you usually stay?  We've stayed in a house in the Sparrow Pond Cottages on the West end of the island since I was in High School.  The house is about a 3 minute bike ride from Duneside, and we use the Duneside pool.  Mom and I actually looked at the Sanctuary last summer for about 2 minutes for wedding stuff, and then we saw the prices.  I'll take my hometown, TYVM. :)
I'm going to miss going this summer...just not enough vacation time with the wedding & honeymoon.

We usually stay with a family friend who lives off Governor's Drive.  For this past New Years we all stayed in 2 condos in Windswept, which isn't very far down the beach from the Sanctuary.  It was very odd because I was sharing a two-bedroom condo with FI and his brother.  FILs were in their own condo with another couple.  FI has an aunt and uncle who live in Charleston, so it's always nice to see them too.

Once we actually saw a tent set up for a wedding, and it looked like a big event.  If we'd wanted Kiawah, it would have meant a VERY small wedding, probably parents only.  We'd rather have our family and friends with us in the church FI grew up attending.

I used to not eat much seafood, but I've learned that I love it when it's cooked well!  Our favorite place to eat is Rosebank, over toward Seabrook.  I love King Street too.  Where do you like to eat?

Yeah...that was us, too.  I'd rather be able to invite more family & friends than keep it small because we can only afford to feed 10 people and have the beach.  The pictures I've seen of weddings there are gorgeous, but just not realistic for our budget in relation to family size. :)

We usually eat in the cottage during the week, since it's my entire family, but we usually take a trip into Charleston at least once at eat at A.W.Shucks, right next to the market.  Mom loves Charleston Crab House, and there's a little restaurant called Gilligans right next to the bridge to St. Johns Island that my brothers love.  We rarely go to Seabrook, but Mom and I went to the spa at Bohicket Marina one year and loved it.

    I love Gilligan's!

I'll have to mention A.W. Shucks next time we're down there, though I have no idea when that will be.  We won't be able to go this summer either.  The wedding and potentially moving to another state will take up our free time.  Do you and Fletcher know where you're going to live in Kansas after you're married?

We'll be in a tiny town about an hour north of Manhattan, 2 hrs NW of Kansas City, and about an hour(ish) south of Lincoln, NE. He moved out there at the beginning of February.
