In Response to Re:Chat is heeeeerrrre!: Yeah, the acceleration sucks. This car has way more features than my old car but I miss being able to merge quickly lol.

What kind of cars do y'all have?

I've always had S-10 Blazers, after we junked the ugly one two years ago DH gave me his Mustang to drive. She was a modified V6 and so much fun. However, we decided to retire her since she was nearing 350,000 miles and rebuild the engine. I now have another S10 Blazer that is not dependable and we haul off trash and MIL's hand me down Oldsmobile.

I hate the Olds with a passion and will be so happy when DH's Cobalt SS is paid for and we can buy me a different car!
I must be really out of the loop, I didn't even realize the trial was taking place until a few days ago when I read they'd started closing arguments. I guess I haven't been following news lately.
    Posted by angelstar975
I haven't looked at the news since last May. I shared a house - I had the attic apartment and the owner had the main portion - with a really neat lady who became a very good friend. We watched the morning news over coffee most every morning. She died of a heart attack in the main kitchen last May and I haven't watched the news since.

    The news is depressing, anyhow.
Sandusky getting convicted on 45 counts and will likely be in jail for the rest of his life is not depressing.  That's a victory.
    Posted by Holly4212011
That is incredible news, but most of the news is not happy news. And, even though that piece of the trial is a victory, the entire situation is so sad that it went on as long as it did and no one stopped it.

Big news manages to find it's way onto the horse/car/wedding forums I frequent or I hear it at work. LOL

  • Hi!  H and I just got back from a great wine bar.

Sandusky makes me sick.  He created a foundation to funnel these poor kids into his sick world.  Gross.
  • I think he was reported years before, but it wasn't really investigaged, or the investigation didn't turn anything up or something.

I just got home and discovered my dad pretty much turned the air off before heading to the shore. Thanks, Dad. Now it's hot as crap in here.

  • I would mind it a lot less if I was at the beach or had a pool in the back yard!

  • I'm still without A/C. :( At least we're in the mountains.

  • We can't do a hotel with all of the animals. :( I'm off to bed. G'night all!

  • I couldn't live life without AC. I mean, I had to, when I lived in the dorms in college and it was terrible. I was so jealous of people who got notes from their doctor about needing AC.

  • Hi.  Just got home from PF Changs with H.  He's home for the weekend.  I finally got my chinese food fix :).

Holly - they were used to it, and didn't have a choice.  Now we're acclimated to A/C.  My friend moved from WI to FL and after about a year started needing a jacket if it was below 70.  He used to wear shorts and t-shirts if it got above 50.

I didn't entirely realize the Sandusky trial was going on already, although I'd seen his name mentioned on my FB feed or something, but I didn't realize it was in relation to the trial.  I should pay more attention.
  • My freshman dorm had A/C, but it was all girls.  I guess it was a trade off.  Stay cool, but no easily accessible boys.
  • I love PF Chang's, what did you get? I haven't been there in forever. I usually get Chang's Spicy Chicken.

  • SO MUCH FOOD.  H wanted egg rolls, and I love their lettuce wraps.  Then we got the spicy chicken and beef with broccoli, and H wanted to try their pork lo mein.  But we brought leftovers home and I probably have lunch for the next week :).
  • I love leftovers... that's half the fun of going out to dinner is having stuff to bring home for later :)

I was surrounded by boys my freshman year... they were on both sides of me and across the hall. My dorm was co-ed and each floor had 3 wings... a girls wing, a boys wing and a co-ed wing and I was in the co-ed wing both years I lived there. The bathroom in my wing was a girls room though, which was cool... it was almost across the hall. The guys in my wing had to go to the boys wing to shower and stuff, which meant walking across the floor lobby in their towels and such, haha.

  • I had a rule that I didn't go home with boys in college, but it didn't count if they lived on the same floor of the dorm as me, haha.

  • My sophomore year I lived in a co-ed dorm.  it was by floor, except the first floor, one side of the lobby was guys, and one side was girls.  My closest college friends are from my dorm my sophomore year.

I look back at the person I was in college and I can't even remember what it was like to be her. I wish I was still fun like that, haha. I've gotten dull in my old age.
I'm pretty sure I had no rules in college.  I probably should have.

Our dorm was co-ed. We had bathrooms in each suite. <div>Part of our dorm rules were that you couldn't co-habitate with the opposite sex. Definition of co-habitation? Using the toilet or shower. It was ridiculous...and no one paid attention to that rule.</div>

Sneaking back into the dorms drunk was always an adventure. You had to walk by a security guard and show your ID and those few moments between the door and elevator were terrifying. A lot of people got arrested. Thank goodness I was never one of them. There were a few security guards who didn't care and it was always awesome when they worked. We'd be like, "Guys, It's Kenny! Kenny is working tonight! Drink as much as you want!"
