Vendor Reviews:
Dress: Davids Bridal: A
I absolutely loved my dress, and actually picked it out of Brides
Magazine in February 2009. I can't give DB all the credit
though, my friend found it at DB for me, i tried the one dress
one and bought it 5 minutes later. But it is beautiful and was
exactly what i wanted. They also had the perfect black beaded
sash to go with it. Though the sales lady tried to argue that she
didnt think it should go on my dress...whatever
Alterations: Davids Bridal: C
So... first alterations were fine, they made my dress fit like a
glove. When it was time for the last fitting I came in and they
had sewn 2 FULL cup sizes into my top, because she thought i
was too small on top. okay, a little padding is fine, but really i
looked like a D cup at the wedding and thats not what i normally
look like, a few of my aunts and friends noticed that i looked
very busty. lol. my dress almost didnt fit with that much added.
Nonetheless i wore it how it was, and it was also about an inch
too long, so the dress is VERY muddy... but again, who cares,
only wore it once.
Hair: Kelsi @ Fresh Salon, Snohomish: A++
I love Kelsi! She is so amazing, i walked into Fresh Salon after
an awful hair trial in June and showed her what i had asked for
and what i got. She immediately moved her day around on our
wedding day so she could do my hair and the bridal party.
Already i was sold on her. Then she did my hair and she is
very talented! love her!
Makeup: Fresh Salon, Snohomish: A+
I wish i could remember the makeup artists' name, but she is the
only one that works there, shes also amazing, did my makeup
exactly how i asked and it didnt look overly made up. She did
the false lashes for me as well and they didnt feel heavy or
awkward like i've had before.
DJ: Jeff Hill: A-
Jeff was awesome, he had 95% of the music i had requested,
and found some hard to find songs i had asked for. He also
did a good job in listening to my husband when he asked for
more upbeat music. i had only picked out 40's & 50's slower
music, so the two of them were able to get everyone on the
dance floor with current music. The only thing i didnt like, was
the timeline wasn't followed for the reception, and i had to do
the Bride/Groom dance, Bride/Father dance, Bouquet toss,
Cake Cutting and Garter toss back to back to back to back so
essentially i never sat down. Other than that, he was great and a
few girls got his info for their upcoming weddings.
Photography: Rosewood Photography: A++
our pics are at: http://rosewoodphotography.zenfolio.com/f749077203
Karmen is an AMAZING photographer and has a great eye.
She captured everything i wanted and then some. She also
knows im a little impatient and edited 5 pics that night and
emaield them to me in the morning so i had something to look
forward to. Very sweet and when i requested a photo booth at
the wedding, she went and bought a ton of props for it and it
was a HIT! some of the pics.....good god lol they are
HILARIOUS.
Day of Coordinator: Dana Callahan, Love Everlasting: A++
I found Dana on the Snohomish Wedding Guild website, and
she did so much more than just the Day of coordination. She
helped me pick out vendors, met with them for me, did set up
and clean up for the weddding, rehersal dinner and more. If
anyone needs a DOC or a Wedding planner she is great and
very affordable!
Tuxes: The Tux Shop, Everett: D
The Tux Shop is... whats a nice word for it.... very
unprofessional. Our groomsmen, dads, brothers and uncles all
went in and were measured and paid 6 months prior to the
wedding. everything was reserved and i would assume a tux
shop would look at the tuxes being rented before they give them
to the guys. Two of our groomsmen noticed as they were
getting dressed and ready for the ceremony...one had a HUGE
whole in the crotch and one had one in the backside. Really?
how it wasn't noticed i dont know. We were about an hour and
a half north of the store, so they called and all they were told
was "well we won't charge you" thats it? no kidding you won't
charge them. So we had to call a couple mom's to come in and
sew as quickly as possible to repair the gaping holes. Poor
guys, and they didnt even apolagize when the tuxes were
returned.
Venue: A Country Location, Arlington: A
After we booked this venue, i looked at other vendor reviews
and got very nervous, i read many bad reviews. Marilyn &
Forrest were amazing and so sweet, i was pleasently surprised.
I actually talked to her for almost half an hour after the wedding.
She told me some things to check out in Maui on our
honeymoon and teared up when she told me how beautiful the
wedding was. The venue is stunning and what a beautiful
setting!
Catering: Joy's Catering Plus: A+
Joy did our rehersal dinner and our wedding and her food was
delicious, great price and she also does cakes and bartending.
She was able to pick out wonderful food to pair with the wine
selection for our rehearsal dinner wine tasting and the Lasagne
and Chicken Parm for the wedding was so amazing!!! shes very
easy to work with and was available by email all throughout the
planning process.
Last minute hair accessories: From The Gown Up, Snohomish: A+
While i was getting my hair done on wedding day, we realized
the hair flower i ordered from Etsy 6 months ago was missing,
called my mom and looked in my car, purse, bags, and nothing.
it was gone. i sorta freaked out and a lady walked over and told
me she owns From the Gown Up a few stores down, they arent
open today but she will go get all the hair flowers and bring
them over. The one i bought was BEAUTIFUL and i actually
liked it better than the original one, and it was a fraction of the
price.
Personal Trainer: Barbi Griffith, Firmer Assets Personal
Training, Everett: A++
Barbi is a wonderful trainer and very personable. She worked
around my schedule and saw me at her home gym. I worked
closely with her for 6 months prior to the wedding and she went
above and beyond her serivces. she set me up on meal plans
and tracked my nutrition online and modified my workouts to
meet the needs for the dress and honeymoon bikini. She is
great!
Limo: Seattles Town Car Service: F- ***DO NOT USE THIS
COMPANY***
In August i reserved a towncar for my husband and I to go
from the venue to the tulalip casino, at the time we were going
to have an after party there. we changed our minds in early
September, i called and spoke with Stan the manager of this
company and he assured me i wouldnt be charged. fast foward
to 8:15PM on wedding night......i get an irate call from the driver
that he has "been waiting for me" for half an hour. um yea i
cancelled so no.... and i didnt see a mercedes town car sitting
outside the venue either. the manager Stan then called me 5
more times that night, screaming at me that he is charging me
because he "doesnt remember me cancelling". When i got back
from my Honeymoon i checked our bank and he did infact,
charge me for his service. charge is being disputed so
hopefully my bank refunds my money! Jerk made me cry on
my wedding night.
